It has come to our attention that aging individuals in 15 Minnesota Counties, including McLeod and Meeker, will have no Medicare Advantage plan option in 2027.

If you are navigating Medicare coverage options for 2027, or you're assisting someone else with this process, you're encouraged to contact Aging Pathways (formerly, the Senior Linkage Line) at (800) 333-2433. They will help you determine your options so that you can choose the one that works best for you. They receive no commission, so the information you receive will be unbiased. Be prepared for long hold times. Patience and a comfortable chair may be required.

Open Enrollment will continue through December 7, but hold times will likely be longer toward the end of the Open Enrollment period.

Several MMDC staff and commissioners had the opportunity to take part in today’s IGNITE Your Future Career Exploration event, in Hutchinson today. This event brought over 1,200 high school sophomores to Ridgewater College’s Hutchinson campus, where they had the opportunity to sample over 80 different careers found in our region. While Carol and Blake staffed MMDC’s community engagement-focused station, Nate and Eric did whatever they could to shepherd students and be useful. MMDC Commissioners Jill Hoff (pictured), Mike Kutzke, and Kiza Olson also got in on the fun. It was an impressive event and all were impressed by the respectful, engaged students!

A Mid-Minnesota Development Commission Executive Committee meeting will be held on Monday, October 12, 2026, at 12:15 pm, at the Mid-Minnesota Development Commission office (1700 Technology Drive NE, Ste. 300, Willmar, MN 56201). Executive Committee members, and members of the public, may also attend via Zoom (Members of the public should contact MMDC Executive Director Eric Day for the required login information).

This meeting will include consideration of information and/or action related to one or more current loans from MMDC’s revolving loan funds. Because sensitive information belonging to private businesses will be included in these discussions, portions of the meeting may be closed to the public.

Any other business requiring timely action may also be considered by the MMDC Executive Committee at this meeting, though no additional business is anticipated at the time of this notice.

MMDC Mobility Manager Terry Smith was happy to take part in Willmar’s Welcome Week event on Saturday! Terry had the opportunity to visit with attendees about transportation options and resources available throughout our region while enjoying a great community event.
