🌟 DREAM Students Take the Lead at Youth Leadership Academy! 🌟
DREAM Technical Academy students had the opportunity to attend the Youth Leadership Academy at Ridgewater College, where young leaders from across the region came together to build confidence, strengthen leadership skills, and discover ways to make a positive impact in their communities!
🎤 Keynote Speaker: Coach Charles Bailey Jr. inspired students through The Keynote Experience, an engaging presentation focused on positive self-talk, challenging the way we think, setting personal goals, and rising above adversity. Through interactive activities like a stereogram challenge and a paper-airplane finale, students were encouraged to believe in themselves and recognize their potential!
🙌 Students also participated in breakout sessions focused on:
🎪 Social Circus — exploring teamwork, communication, trust, and confidence through fun, interactive activities.
⭕ Restorative Circles — learning how listening, sharing perspectives, building relationships, and working through conflict can help create stronger, more connected communities.
💡 Leadership — developing the skills to take initiative, work with others, recognize personal strengths, and make a difference.
At DREAM, we believe every student has strengths, talents, and leadership potential waiting to be discovered. Opportunities like this help our students grow not only as learners, but also as confident, compassionate leaders who can make a difference in the world around them. 💚

👻🎃 Dare to Enter DREAM’s Haunted House! 🎃👻

Are you ready for a Halloween adventure with a little extra fright? 😱 Join us at DREAM Technical Academy on the Minnwest Technology Campus for a Haunted House experience you won’t soon forget! The Haunted House will be open on Wednesday, October 28th from 5:00-8:00 pm and on Friday, October 30th from 6:00-9:00 pm. The cost is only $5. This is an annual fundraiser for the DREAM Prom, which is hosted by our Student Council. There is also a Trunk or Treat Event on the Minnwest MinnWest Technology Campus on Wednesday, October 28th from 4:00-6:00 pm.

🏚️ What makes our Haunted House extra spooky? Our building is located on a campus that was formerly the site of an old state hospital, giving this location a unique history and an atmosphere that’s perfect for a Halloween scare! 👀🕸️ Whether you love a good scare or just want to experience something a little different this Halloween season, come see what lurks around the corner!

⚠️ A quick word of caution for parents: This Haunted House is designed to be spooky and potentially frightening. We recommend that children under the age of 7 do not go through the Haunted House. Please use your best judgment when deciding whether this experience is right for your child.

🕷️ Gather your bravest friends and family, bring your Halloween spirit, and prepare to be spooked!

We're excited to share that DREAM Technical Academy has started offering student meals delivered from Willmar Senior High School this year. In line with our commitment to sustainability, we are utilizing durable plastic meal trays that can be repurposed. Math Advisor Dawn Bergh has taken the lead on a campaign to collect, wash, and reuse these trays as part of our values focused on reducing, reusing, and recycling.

These trays will be transformed into various useful items for future projects, including seed-starting trays with drainage holes, mini greenhouses for seedlings, and organizers for gardening tools. Additionally, they can serve as drawer dividers for home organization or sorting trays for small items like beads and LEGO pieces.

DREAM is dedicated to fostering creativity and sustainability in all our initiatives, and we look forward to seeing how these trays will benefit our students and the broader community. Stay tuned for updates on our projects!

📦✨ Turning Cardboard into Creativity at DREAM! ✨📦

What can you create with some cardboard, a little imagination, and a willingness to experiment? At DREAM Technical Academy, our students are finding out!

Students recently took part in a seminar with advisor Jess, titled “Evolving Cardboard Sculpture,” in which they explored the process of transforming an everyday material into something completely new. From designing and planning to cutting, building, testing, and revising, students used their creativity and problem-solving skills to bring their ideas to life.

The results? Some pretty amazing creations! 🎨🔨

We love seeing our students take an idea from their imagination and turn it into something they can actually hold, examine, and be proud of. Even more importantly, projects like this give students the opportunity to experiment, make mistakes, rethink their designs, and keep creating.

At DREAM, learning doesn't always look like sitting at a desk, and that's exactly how we like it! 💙
