The American Revolution is a lie. It was simply a single piece of a conflict that was being fought across the Home (British) isles and Empire. When Benjamin Franklin, a committed American Whig from which we get the Whig tradition in America from (Rockefeller Republicans, the Whig Party, the Democratic-Republicans), was in London at the start of the American revolution when he was invited into the House of Lords by William Pitt to hear his impassioned speech in defence of the colonies cause which he himself supported.
Indeed, a large factor in the buildup to the American Revolution was that the favoured Whig Party (William Pitt’s Party) by Americans had fallen out of power in London.
Moreover, the American Revolution was not as bloodless as it is taught in schools. The American “Patriots” burned Loyalists alive, covered them in hot tar that burned them so much they screamed in agony, chopped them to pieces, and lynched them. All of which was applauded by the Patriot Whig press in America with instructions on how to do some of these things.
After the war, the real violence started, and 2% of America’s population, our largest mass exodus ever, choose to leave with the British to settle in Canada, forming the basis of most of Canada’s English speaking population today.
Meanwhile, those who remained were often in the absence of any government support, butchered in front of their children, but most of the time their wives and children were butchered too.
Their homes were often set on fire with them in them, and most of the population of Vermont and New Hampshire were forced to leave by armed “Patriot” Whig mobs. 60% of both states populations fled to Canada.
The American Revolution also was a mistake. The American Revolution was partially fought to preserve slavery. Southern Plantation owners had grown increasingly concerned by trials in Britain that stated any American slave brought there would immediately be free. The Anti-Slavery judicial rulings were lining up and the planters fought partially to preserve their way of life which was slowly coming under attack. They feared that in the future a British court would declare slavery illegal.
Speaking of which, the British empire was the first country in the Western World to end slavery throughout its empire and spent enormous sums of money trying to end it. 50% of the Royal Navy’s budget went every year in the 19th century, to fighting the slave trade.
Britain also put diplomatic pressure on other European powers to end the practice while the United States was expanding slavery throughout the South.
Britain also never had state mandated segregation like the United States had and is much less racist and it’s population much more happy than we are today(according to studies that rank quality of life).
America is also a rebel nation which is why we can’t ever catch up to the rest of the World on racial and socio-economic issues. America was built on the Founders dream of unbridled capitalism and a revolution to secure their own financial interests. The Founding Fathers didn’t care for the people, they created a Republic and the precious electoral college, an unelected senate, and strict voting requirements to control the masses, which they labelled and knew was a mob.
Americans don’t respect law and authority and vote against restricting the free market, which is in their best interest because of the revolution.
We can trace the way the Trumpsters who stormed the capital this January back to the foundation myth were heroic American patriots fought a government trying to collect taxes for debts occurred trying to protect the colonies in a war against their worst enemy and biggest fear, the French.
The Gullitines were a French Revolution thing we helped inspire, we just had hangings. To be true to the revolution, the mob the founders tried to control but let run wild when it suited them, should have hanged the opposition to the President in true American style.
Face it, the American Revolution was one of the greatest tragedies in human history and we all know it.
We Could Have Been Canada Was the American Revolution such a good idea?
