The Delaware Community Foundation improves lives by empowering and growing philanthropy through knowledge and relationships, now and in the future.

The Delaware Community Foundation carries out two primary roles in the community. We manage and administer hundreds of charitable funds according to the wishes of our donors or to meet specific community needs. We invest the funds received from donors and awards grants to humanitarian, educational and cultural organizations throughout the state. We also help assess and address community needs, often in conjunction with other organizations, businesses and governmental agencies.

DCF staff members attended today's Latino Summit hosted by the Delaware Hispanic Commission at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington. This event created space to connect, learn, and take action - bringing together professionals, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and more.

There were many dynamic workshops focused on issues critical to the Latino community, as well as meaningful discussions around civic engagement, economic empowerment, education and immigration.
The celebration also included an award honoring Dr. Christine Cannon for her work with the DCF’s Arsht-Cannon Fund. The award was accepted on her behalf by DCF Director of Community Partnerships and Hispanic Initiatives Dr. Jennifer Fuqua.

Everyone enjoyed cultural performances, delicious food, and the opportunity to connect with more than 50 organizations, agencies, and businesses dedicated to serving and uplifting our neighbors.
