Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! This is the time of year to thanks but it is also, most importantly, the time of year to remember those less fortunate.

And more good news for this Wednesday morning..
"Jimmy Francis just hoped someone would help him make it through another day on the streets of Las Vegas. But what one local realtor gave him as a gift will likely warm his heart forever.
When Jim Snyder saw how much Francis, 74, was suffering, he gave him a sandwich and then brought him to his house to see what else he could do help the homeless man, KTNV reported. Once the realtor learned that Francis wanted to reconnect with his children more than anything else, Snyder turned to Facebook and found the panhandler’s daughter whom he hadn’t seen or spoken to in 24 years.
“I love you,” Francis told his daughter Natalie Caler over Skype. “It’s been a long time.”

What a great idea.
"As Amy Cervantes watched her son Alex marvel at his gifts while surrounded by friends and family on his third birthday, she felt a twinge of sadness. The mother of three thought about the thousands of homeless kids who wouldn’t get to celebrate in such a joyous way and decided in that moment to do something about it.
Since making her resolution in 2005, Cervantes – along with her husband and three sons –- has enabled more than 10,000 homeless children to properly revel on their birthdays, TODAY.com reports. The North Carolina family’s efforts have evolved into a full on nonprofit, Bright Blessings, and the organization is developing affiliates in a number of other states."

"It's really humiliating to be shaking a cup 24 hours a day, and people just look at you're like some kind of little bum," Davis says in the video. He goes on to tell the interviewer how passers-by holler at him to "get a job" and call him names.
"I'm not a bum," Davis says, breaking down in tears. "I'm a human being."

Homeless Man's Plea For Dignity Inspires Outpouring Of Kindness As one of Chicago's more than 105,000 estimated homeless citizens, Ronald Davis' story of struggling to survive on the streets may not be unique — but the reaction to his plea for work and dignity certainly is. For reasons unknown, a roughly year-old clip of Davis telling his story surfaced on Redd...
