Join us this Friday, June 5th, for the first Family Friday program of the season! We will be joined by a teaching artist from DiAE - Delaware Institute for Arts in Education- for story time with the book, Over and Under the Pond by Kate Messner, and activities focused on the “music” in nature. This program runs from 10:30am - 11:15 am, and is free with admission. Perfect for children aged 2- 5 years!

Last week, Dr. Katheryn Lawson, Archivist Historian, and Paula Phipps, Manager, Collections & Special Interpretive Projects, welcomed students from the Rosenbach Museum & Library’s course “The Curator’s Toolkit” to the Estate. It was a joy to host such an engaged and curious mix of early-career professionals, students, and rare book enthusiasts!

It’s shaping up to be a beautiful weekend here on the Estate! 🌞If you plan on visiting us this Sunday, May 31, please note that we will be closing early.

Every spring we plant thousands of tomato seeds in our greenhouse to give away to staff, patients and their families at Nemours Children’s Hospital.
This year our friends at contributed their own tomato seedlings, which provided an abundance of free plants for the first of our Can Grow Garden giveaways!

The Estate and Hospital work together through the Wellbeing programming, the Can Grow Garden, and other initiatives, to provide healthy opportunities for staff, patients and their families.🌱

Bring your lawn chairs and listen to Charrity & John performing from the front steps of the mansion while enjoying drinks from Wilmington Brew Works, and tasty bites from Dos Gringos, Bake’n Bacon, Rolling Grub and, PeeWee’s Ice Cream!

Alongside the Estate's formal french-inspired gardens are over 100 acres of natural lands and woods! Today were joining in their Go Public Garden Days Photo Scavenger Hunt, by posting one of our favorite shrubs, Bridal Wreath Spirea. You can find it blooming in the Temple Garden!
