The Wilmington Public Library is looking for a motivated, community‑focused individual to join our Youth Services team as a Youth Programming Specialist!

If you love working with children and families and are excited about creating engaging, inclusive library programs, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Position Details:

Location: Wilmington Public Library, 10 E. 10th Street, Wilmington, DE
Hours: 20–25 hours per week (including evenings & Saturdays for events)
Pay: $15.00 per hour

What You’ll Do:

• Lead weekly preschool story times
• Support monthly programs for children and teens
• Create marketing materials for youth programs
• Maintain calendar schedules
• Track program statistics and evaluations
• Help create a welcoming, positive environment for families

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required (Bachelor’s preferred)
• Experience working with children strongly preferred
• Strong customer service skills and ability to work collaboratively

Fish Fry Friday Event Recap🎣🎉

We had an amazing time on Friday, August 15th at our Fish Fry Friday event! The community came out to celebrate with the talented creators of Soul Food Sunday — Winsome Bingham and C.G. Esperanza, a Caldecott Honor and Coretta Scott King Illustrator Award winner. 📚🥇

Guests enjoyed a lively book signing, received free copies of Fish Fry Friday, and indulged in a delicious serving of fish and chips. It was a heartwarming evening filled with great food, great stories, and great company.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the day so special! ❤️
