Justice Thomas delivered this remark during an address hosted by The Heritage Foundation.

He believes that a judge's duty is to locate the *original* objective meaning of the written law, regardless of popular opinion, EVEN IF such lies in opposition to decades of existing Supreme Court precedent.

Always nice to see one another and catch up with friends, new and old. Kelly J Roberts was a wonderful host Wednesday evening at Ironclad Brewery and the RUMCOW. Wilmington,NC snacks were fantastic.

During election season, we spend quite a lot of time with one another and it's like having an extended family. Reality dictates that campaigning takes a toll on ALL candidates. It's like having a whole second job. For some, like candidates Dane Scalise, Josie Barnhart and Chad Hogston, they have jobs, are already serving, have families AND they're campaigning. For others, like Amy Dunning, Kurt Fryar and Janelle Cline, they're navigating new terrain. Or, like Chris Sutton and Richard Collier, they're running for a second time.

So, to our candidates, thank you. We see how hard you're working, the sacrifices you have made, the time spent away from your families...whether new to the game like Latisha Grady or a seasoned pro like Sen. Michael Lee, LeAnn Pierce, Charlie Miller, David Rouzer, Frank Jones, Pat Bradford, Jane Kennedy, Leslie McKee or Frank Meares, we are so very grateful, especially now.

Thank you for stepping up to run and thank you for allowing the New Hanover County GOP and its hardworking volunteers to support you in all the ways. It is indeed our honor to do so.

Vote-Republican-for-North-Carolina-because-we're-out-to-win.

Conservative judges matter now more than ever because "integrity is the cornerstone of justice" and that means the law must be applied as written.

Janelle Cline Janelle Cline is running for District Court Judge | District 6, covering counties New Hanover and Pender.

"The legal system does not work without predictability. To me, that means that the law is applied with fairness...I believe people struggle to trust the judiciary when the rules seem to apply differently to different people. In order to do the job and maintain public trust—a judge’s decisions should be guided only by the law and the facts, never by outside pressure or personal preference. In my current role as a special resource prosecutor, I apply this principle every day."

Kinda MENSA to support the candidates who will fight for North Carolina in ways that do not include no voter ID, higher taxes, putting a Socialist on the Supreme Court, silencing political dissent, opening the borders, letting men into women's spaces, allowing staff + students to skip school to go protest and taking your guns away.

Chic kinda leaves the chat when Common Sense, Rule of Law, sanity and intelligence enter the room.

The Logic of Affordability.

There are THREE Constitutional Amendments on the ballot for the North Carolina 2026 General Elections.

1: Voter ID requirement for all voters
2: Cap State Income Tax at 3.5%
3: Property tax limits at the level of local governance

On October 14, 2026, NHCGOP Chairman John Hinnant sat down with Rachel B Keith from WHQR to discuss these three Constitutional Amendments. The audio presented here is pulled from that interview.

In it, Chairman Hinnant points out the glaringly obvious: campaigning on affordability while refusing to support that which keeps money in the pockets of North Carolina workers directly contradicts the North Carolina Constitution which states that North Carolinians are entitled to the fruits of their labor. Can't have it both ways.

Affordability doesn't math anywhere other than on paper and raising taxes creates lasting impact on our local economy. At this time, tax-paying consumers are being driven across county line to Brunswick and Pender to ease the squeeze which impacts our schools, which Chairman also explains.

The New Hanover County Republican Party supports working families and we will be voting *FOR* on ALL THREE Constitutional Amendments.

Sifting through the noise on a Sunday.

Durham People’s Alliance (aka People’s Alliance + PA) is a "progressive" org in Durham. It has its own 501(c)(4), 501(c)(3) Fund, and PAC, is *highly influential* in NC politics through membership-driven endorsements and its tentacles cross county lines.

Carolina Federation is a statewide 501(c)(4) formed around 2018, also based in Durham, and serves as the operational arm of Liberation Road (which has its roots in FRSO: Freedom Road Socialist Organization).

Their focus: "building progressive/working-class political power across North Carolina."

CF's local chapter is New Hanover for All. 

The People’s Platform Coalition:

Carolina Federation’s North Carolina People’s Platform process explicitly includes People’s Alliance as a member organization whose members are eligible to participate/vote on the platform alongside the following orgs. When New Hanover for All states that their endorsed candidates have agreed to CO-GOVERN with their organization and others, they mean governing via "Collective Power."

That's basically CODE for "they will answer to US."

Who is "US?" To name a few:

• Durham for All
• New Hanover for All
• Guilford for All
• Down Home NC
• Siembra NC (held anti-ICE resistance trainings in NHC)
• NCAE ("Teachers Union" activists)
• Indivisible (No Kings, Hands Off, May Day)
• Equality NC

FINISH THE BALLOT for Republicans.

We do not "co-govern" with outside organizations and "allied" non-profits that seek to "transform" North Carolina from within.

The co-governance model of governing via Collective Power means the candidate will answer to the organizations that make up "the collective." Candidates fill out questionnaires prior to receiving these groups' endorsements. With the "progressive left," all that matters is that the candidate pledge fealty to their brand and the brand is the agenda.

This is why the left a NO on capping taxes.

Lower taxes = less money with which to government-fund the galaxy. If you'll recall, our Republican majority led county board of commissioners relieved the taxpayer of this particular brand of burden when they signed off on the FY2025 budget. NHC tax payers should not be forced to full-scope-fund the local non-profit sector and if we do not hold the majority, we'll be right back where we started.

Additionally, voting "FOR" these constitutional amendments helps protect the entire state from egregious tax increases. For us, at the municipal level, what's done is done (17% increase 😖). However, at the county and state level, we can ACT NOW to put those fuel stops in place by protecting our majorities and supporting the amendments because taxation is theft when the money lands in the wrong hands.

Of course the important, RELEVANT organizations that have consistently brought value add to our community will continue to be funded (WARM, Coastal Horizons, etc.) and EDUCATION will ALSO continue to be funded. And don't forget the work NHCS board member Pat Bradford and the Finance Committee SHE pushed to create (which she Chairs and upon which Chairman Hinnant also serves) have done some *truly* INCREDIBLE things and we wish to keep that positive momentum going.

At the end of the day, those screaming about affordability while demanding people not support that which will put MORE money in their pockets and KEEP IT THERE don't understand the meaning of "you can't have it both ways."

Roy Cooper wants you to think he's a moderate. The People's Alliance knows better.

This is a group that has spent 50 years electing progressives in North Carolina and they just put their stamp on Roy Cooper for the U.S. Senate. They don't endorse people they can't count on. They say it themselves: they hold their candidates accountable 365 days a year.

So ask yourself who Roy Cooper will answer to in Washington. It won't be you.

"Progressive" is just another name for Democratic Socialist. That's the agenda Cooper's backers expect him to deliver, and our kids and grandkids are the ones who will pay for it.

Michael Whatley will fight for North Carolina families, not for a Durham political machine.

This seat could decide control of the Senate. Don't sit this one out. Get out and vote, and bring everyone who cares about the country we're leaving behind.
