Happy Birthday to the Civil Air Patrol.

On this Thanksgiving eve, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to the cadets and seniors of the Delaware Wing. Your dedication, commitment, and service to Civil Air Patrol exemplify the very best of volunteerism and leadership.

This year, we have accomplished much together—whether through missions supporting our communities, cadet development activities, or strengthening our emergency services and aerospace programs. You all play vital role in achieving our mission to serve America and prepare our future leaders. You give your time, energy, and talents selflessly, and for that, I am deeply thankful.

As you celebrate this holiday, please take a moment to recharge, cherish the company of loved ones, and remember how much your service means to those around you. Whether in the air or on the ground, you embody the values of integrity, volunteer service, excellence, and respect.

Wonderful to meet Lt Col Richardson and talk about her service in Delaware Wing in the 1960s.

Sometimes its a small world in Civil Air Patrol. At this years Civil Air Patrol National Conference in San Antonio, Lt Col Monica Richardson, from Texas Wing introduced herself to Delaware Wing Commander Colonel Robert Hotchkiss, CAP. A fifty year CAP member, Lt Col Richardson first joined Civil Air Patrol in 1962 with the New Castle Squadron in Delaware Wing. LIke many Civil Air Patrol members, all of her siblings were also members of Delaware Wing - Civil Air Patrol from the 1950's to the 1970's. She continued to serve CAP in the Virginia and Texas Wings while also serving as a nurse in the US Air Force.

Very proud of the Delaware Wing - Civil Air Patrol Aerospace Education team on this recognition.

Congratulations to the members of Delaware Wing and especially the Wing and Squadron Aerospace Education teams. Delaware Wing - Civil Air Patrol was recognized with the 2024 Mid-Atlantic Region, Civil Air Patrol Mission Award at the 2024 Civil Air Patrol National Conference in San Antonio Texas.

New Pilot Alert! - Cadet Lt Col Evan Lightfoot of DANG Cadet Squadron, Delaware Wing passed his PPL Checkride today! Now officially a private pilot. Lightfoot was the second cadet from the Wing (And from DANG Squadron) to go through the Cadet Wings Program and the first one from Delaware to complete his checkride in a CAP aircraft!. Previously he had the distinction of soloing on his 16th birthday last year. Among his accomplishments he served as Cadet Commander of DANG Squadron, and attended the Glider Academy in the past where he got his first Solo Pilot badge.

It was a double Billy Mitchell Award ceremony tonight at Brandywine Squadron, Civil Air Patrol . Congratulations Cadet 2nd Lieutenants Petrucci and Acosta.

It is always an honor to atttend the banquet and graduation for the Tri-Wing Encampment. Salute to the dedicated and hard working cadet and senior staff that support the encampment and the basic cadets who completed this formative step in their cadet program journey.

Thank you to the cadets and senior member volunteer airmen that attended this outstanding school to hone their knowledge and skills and to support the activity. All of them attended NESA on their own time, at their own expense, taking time away from work and family.
