Wilmington Fire Department would like to thank Crash Course Village for coming out this past week to teach our staff members more about vehicle extrication!
Members had the opportunity to gain hands on experience with extrication tools and obtained invaluable information about vehicle anatomy & stabilization techniques. These are very important skills to refine for high acuity situations such as a vehicle extrication.
Additionally, We would like to thank B&G Towing, Case Towing, and Pauleys Towing and Salvage Yard for providing the vehicles to us!

The Wilmington Fire Department is accepting applications for Firefighter/EMT and Firefighter/Paramedic positions and two exams times are currently available.

In 2022, WFD made 4,021 responses, with 3,186 of those EMS and 557 Fire. We are committed to mutual aid and assisted neighboring department 274 times last year. Our Firefighters assisted in improving the City’s I.S.O. Score to a 4, and our department strongly values continuing education, with several of our Firefighters earning certifications as Fire Inspectors.
Current annual salaries range up to $79,817.92, and lateral transfers are honored per our bargaining agreement.

Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 4:15 PM

Candidates with passing scores will then be contacted to complete the assessment of physical fitness, with criminal background investigation and psychological exams to follow.
