Respect is not extra.

It is part of care.

When people feel judged, they pull away. When they feel seen, they are more likely to stay connected to support.

Mental health and substance use often overlap.

Stress, grief, anxiety, depression, housing instability, and isolation can all shape how someone copes. Substance use can also deepen those struggles over time.

Sustainable recovery asks more than one question. It looks at the person’s life, relationships, routines, environment, and support system.

That is where real care begins.

Changes in sleep, appetite, mood, focus, or behavior may be easy to explain away.

A hard week. A stressful month. Too much going on.
Sometimes that is true. Sometimes the pattern is asking for attention.

Noticing early is not overreacting. It is care.

Mental health affects how we sleep, work, connect, cope, and move through the day.

It is not separate from recovery. It is part of the whole picture.
At Limen, support is not limited to one issue or one moment. People need time, structure, community, and care that sees the full person.

Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Their courage, service, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

Many people are asking the same questions quietly.

Am I okay? Is this normal? Should I do something about this?

You are not alone in that.

When Tim arrived at Limen Recovery and Wellness, he was newly separated from the substances that had controlled his life and unsure of what came next.

After years of pain, isolation, and strained relationships, he found a safe place to begin again. With encouragement from staff, counselors, alumni, and fellow residents, Tim made the difficult choice to stay, listen, and accept help — even on the days he wanted to leave.

Today, his life looks very different.

“I’m able to rebuild relationships, be of service to others, live an honest life, and not take myself so seriously.”

We’re grateful to share Tim’s story and celebrate the courage it takes to keep choosing recovery.

Thank you to DSAMH (Delaware Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health) for hosting the SOR Conference on Tuesday, May 12, and for creating space for important conversations about enhancing the practice of OUD treatments.

Gatherings like this help providers, partners, and community leaders stay connected to the real needs of people and families affected by opioid use disorder.

Limen is grateful to learn alongside others who are committed to expanding access, strengthening care, and supporting recovery in ways that are compassionate, practical, and sustainable.
