We are thrilled to introduce the new nominees for the 2026-2027 PTO board, signaling the start of an exciting new chapter.

What is the Time Commitment for Board Positions?
1 board meeting a month (2-3 hours long)
1 general meeting every other month (1-1.5 hours long)
PTO and School Events (For Example: meet the teacher, fundraising events, school dances, book fair, field day)
We encourage Board member participation as much as possible to support the successful ex*****on of these events and provide a PTO presence to our school community.
Ex*****on of Tasks Between Board Meetings: Flexible and varies by role
We understand that work and family obligations come first, so there is flexibility built into the time commitments for the PTO Board.
PRESIDENT
Responsibilities:
Run Board and General Meetings of the PTO
Serve as primary PTO contact for the Principal
Represent the PTO to outside entities
Manage email correspondence and delegate emails to appropriate board members.
Serve as a member of all committees to coordinate and facilitate their work and ensure that activities align with the purpose of the organization.
VICE PRESIDENT
Responsibilities:
Assist the President in all duties
Carry out the President’s duties in his or her absence or inability to serve.
Serve as a member of committees to coordinate and facilitate their work and ensure that activities align with the purpose of the organization.
SECRETARY
Responsibilities:
Create meeting agendas and maintain meeting minutes
Organize and maintain PTO records
Reserve rooms and facilities for all PTO Board and General Meetings
Ensure that all necessary supplies and technology are available and functioning during meetings.
TREASURER
Responsibilities:
Manage PTO finances (budget, fundraising, reimbursements, deposits, receipts, expenses, etc.)
Correspond with PTO Accountant
Prepare cash boxes for each event and collect cash for deposit
Prepare and present monthly finance reports to Board and at General Meetings
Prepare and present annual finance report to Board at General Meeting
Assist PTO Accountant with tax preparations
DIRECTOR OF MIDDLE SCHOOL
Responsibilities:
Organize Middle School specific events to promote community building and fundraising efforts.
Serve as the primary PTO point of contact for Middle School parents and teachers
Manage volunteers, budgets and communications related to these events.
Assist with school-wide events as needed.
DIRECTOR OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Responsibilities:
Organize Elementary School specific events to promote community building and fundraising efforts.
Serve as the primary PTO point of contact for Elementary School parents and teachers.
Manage volunteers, budgets and communications related to these events.
Assist with school-wide events as needed.
DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS
Responsibilities:
Create and publish announcements about events, meetings, fundraisers, activities on social media platforms
Maintain online platforms and associated communication in consultation with Members of the Board.
Assist with creation of visual and digital materials to support PTO events and activities
Collect PTO updates from the Board and send them to the Principal for inclusion in BSS Weekly Updates.
DIRECTOR OF FUNDRAISING
Responsibilities:
Develop an annual fundraising plan and presents to the Board
Organize and manage school-wide fundraising events
Collaborate with Directors of Elementary and Middle School with grade level specific fundraising events.
Manage volunteers, budgets and communications related to these events.
DIRECTOR OF AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
Responsibilities
Contracts for, schedules, and oversees after school programming
Primary point of contact regarding after school programming for Principal, School Administrators, Vendors, parents and PTO Board.
Ensure flyers and marketing materials are distributed to the school community in collaboration with the Director of Communications.
Ensure functionality of after school sessions by seeking feedback from key stakeholders as above.
DIRECTOR OF STAFF APPRECIATION
Responsibilities:
Organize and execute monthly events/initiatives that show gratitude for teachers and staff.
Organize and execute events during Teacher Appreciation Week (May)
Manage volunteers, budgets and communications related to these events.

Elections will occur during our final General Meeting of the year
