63 years ago, people marched for the right to be heard.
On August 28, 1963, hundreds of thousands gathered in Washington, D.C., demanding jobs, freedom, equality, and voting rights. That movement helped push our country toward some of the most important civil rights legislation in our history.
On August 28, 2026, the Wilson County Democratic Party gathered in protest to Defend the Vote.
Different time. Different circumstances. But the same fundamental principle: democracy only works when people have the freedom and ability to make their voices heard.
We will continue to stand up for voting rights, access to the ballot, and the right of every eligible voter to participate in our democracy.
63 years later, we’re still marching. We’re still organizing. And we’re still defending the vote.
