Although this call had a very good outcome , Wilton Fire would like to use this call as an important reminder:
- Change the batteries in your smoke detectors regularly. As well as test your smoke detectors to make sure they are functioning properly.
- Keep the areas around furnaces, woodstoves, pellet stoves, and other heating appliances clear of household items and debris.
- Make sure chimneys, flues, and vents remain clear and are properly maintained.
Keeping these areas clear and your detection equipment properly maintained can help ensure your heating system operates effectively and safely.
