October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and this month's featured course on Gale Courses, "Introduction to PC Security," covers the fundamentals in plain terms.

You'll explore how operating systems, software, and networks become vulnerable, learn how hackers think and which exploits they rely on, and find out how viruses, worms, and blended threats are created. The course also teaches you how to handle files safely across the internet using a virtual private network and how to set up a firewall to guard your computer or network.

Gale Courses are online classes that run six weeks, with sign-up open during the first two weeks. Classes are free with your PCPL library card! Once you've signed up, stop in at the library to pick up a free notebook, and complete the course to earn a free deluxe stainless steel tumbler.

Help us reach 500 items! We've collected over 300 food items for local pantries this year, and we hope to end 2026 with 500. We need your help!

Every item we receive goes straight to our local food pantries to help neighbors in need.

Bring a single can or bring a whole bag! Cleaning out your pantry before the holidays? Headed to the grocery store? Pick up a few extra items and drop them off with us.

The collection box is located at the library's front desk, and we accept donations year-round. Thank you for helping us help others.
