yay Winchendon!
Some wild neighbors just got a lot more room to roam 🌲💛
Nearly 400 acres of forest, wetlands and wildlife habitat in Winchendon, Massachusetts, have been permanently conserved. The newly protected land connects with thousands of acres of existing conservation areas, creating a larger stretch of uninterrupted habitat for wildlife to move, feed and find shelter.
Protecting connected landscapes can be especially important for animals that need to travel between habitats rather than remain in one isolated patch. The conservation effort will also help safeguard local waterways and keep the land undeveloped for the future.
