Winter weather is coming! And after the winter weather we experienced last year, it never hurts to be prepared.

Join us at the Wi******er Public Library on October 7 at 2:00 PM for a Winter Weather Preparedness talk presented by Northwoods EMS District.

Learn how to stay safe during winter weather, prepare your home and vehicle, and be ready for common winter emergencies. Northern Wisconsin saw heavy snow, dangerous cold, strong winds, and difficult travel conditions during the past winter season, so this is a great opportunity to get prepared before the snow starts flying.

Happy Fat Bear Week!

Stop by the Wi******er Public Library during Fat Bear Week, September 23–26, to celebrate the bears of Katmai National Park & Preserve! While voting is open on fatbearweek.org from September 22 to 29, the library is only open Wednesday-Saturday next week.

We’ll have the live bear cam running in the Community Room throughout the week, so you can stop in and watch the bears doing what they do best: eating, fishing, sleeping, and getting ready for winter.

While you’re here:
Try your luck at Bear Behavior Bingo! Complete your bingo card by spotting different bear behaviors on the live cam. Turn in your completed card for a sticker.

Guess how many gummy bears are in the jar! The person who comes closest without going over will win the entire jar of gummy bears!

Drop in anytime during the week and spend a few minutes watching the bears.

Come see what the bears are up to!
