Yesterday, we wrapped up our last Tuesday at Bertie Early College High School! We had an egg drop contest! I love how creative the kids get when they are able to build from scratch! 🍀

Join Bertie & Vance County 4-H for an exciting day at the NC State Science House! Youth will dive into the world of electrophoresis and drone soccer while exploring hands-on STEM activities and learning about exciting career possibilities in science, technology, engineering, and more.

Transportation will be provided for this trip. We will depart from the Bertie County Cooperative Extension Office at 104 Lancaster Ave. Windsor, NC 27983 at 7:30am and return to the office at the end of the day. Lunch will also be provided. We will enjoy lunch at Fountain Dining Hall on the NC State University campus.

Who Can Attend?
This trip is open to high school students in grades 9–12.

Ever heard of the story The Three Little Pigs? Normally, I use it for my kindergartners but today my freshmen and sophomores had a kick out of building the strongest home against a sphero! I enjoy my time so much Bertie Early College High School on Tuesdays! Our time is coming to an end but I’m looking forward to the next program that we will have coming up next month! 🍀💚

Make sure to call and order your Christmas Wreaths! Every wreath that is purchased helps provide camp scholarships for local youth and supports 4-H programs throughout the year. Your purchase helps our youth grow, learn, and thrive!

Bring in Fall with a pumpkin decorating contest with 4-H at Bertie County Cooperative Extension! Thanks to Greg Hughes and Hughes Market in Windsor for donating pumpkins to make this contest possible!

The contest is open to ages 5-18. You can use crafts like paint, glue, paper, fabric and any other craft items to decorate your pumpkin. Please do not carve them! Please be sure to sign up on the Google Form at this link: https://forms.gle/1Zq76Ee6PVg8Vnmk6 or use the QR Code on the flyer!

Pick up day will be October 7th and Drop off day will be October 20th at the Bertie County Cooperative Extension off at 104 Lancaster Ave. Windsor, NC 27983!

Are you a middle or high school youth interested in drones? Are you an adult in the community interested in coaching a drone team? This is for you!

Every year, NCA&T puts on the annual Game of Drones Competition where youth compete against teams from across the state! We are looking for youth and adults who are interested in coaching the teams. I will be right there with you all and you will have several opportunities to work with specialist on the coding program and to troubleshoot. You will have several opportunities to go to campus and attend regional trainings!
