Dad has made so many sacrifices for me including transferring as a Magistrate Judge to Lee County to resolve a familial conflict after I became the acting Henry County Attorney in February 2026. He never complains about the transfer or the further drive. Dad continues to professionally serve the judicial branch in Southeast Iowa with honor.

I am grateful to have such a selfless dad. Watching Dad use his law degree to help the community inspired me to go to law school. I hope to serve Henry County for as long as Dad.

Thank you, Dad, for all you do for me. 🙏

Henry County taxpayers deserve straight answers — not "magic math."

A $231,090 budget increase in the County Attorney's Office, with no real explanation of the increases and expenditures, is exactly the kind of accountability gap that matters to every family in Henry County. I'm running for Henry County Attorney to bring genuine independence and transparency to that office because the County Attorney should answer to the people of Henry County, full stop.

On November 3, pay attention. Vote Abbie Liechty for Henry County Attorney.

In a post on September 21, 2026, Becky Wilson falsely claims the net increase in salaries for 2026-2027 fiscal year was only $3,635. She again denied the large increase in salaries during the KILJ forum on October 13, 2026.

Salaries under Becky Wilson increased by $100,495.20.

The original budget for fiscal year 2026-2027 accounted for $160,339 spent on assistant county attorneys (including my salary of $70,000) and $118,968 for support staff, totaling $279,307. It is important to note the Office Manager position held by Tammy Mulford for 20+ years was not intended to be refilled after her retirement in 2025. The Office Manager’s duties were divided between the Victim Witness Coordinator and Administrative Assistant. Tammy Mulford’s salary was $69,325. In April of 2025, the Board of Supervisors passed (2-1 vote) a pay increase for the Victim Witness Coordinator and Administrative Assistant due to the expanded job duties. The restructuring of the Henry County Attorney’s Office alone would have saved Henry County Taxpayers roughly $40,000.

After Becky Wilson took office, the cost of assistant county attorney salaries is $203,425, with an additional $176,377.20 in support staff, totaling $379,802.20.

A budget amendment to increased the Henry County Attorney’s budget by $231,090. A historic high in part due to the increased salaries. How can Becky Wilson be trusted to hold the public accountable for crimes when she refuses to take responsibility for the budget increase?
