Win-Bur-Sew is honored to have participated in two rememberance ceremonies honoring the victims and heros of the September 11th attacks 25 years ago.

We were invited to be part of Midway Village's annual 9/11 ceremony.

Earlier today 4 members participated in the 5th annual Hero climb raising funds for the Greg Lindmark foundation and climbing the equivalent of 110 stories. The height of each tower.

On the day of the attacks, hundreds of first responders upheld their oath to protect the public putting their own safety 2nd. We must continue remembering and honoring them while continuing to uphold the same oath.

Twenty-five years after Sept. 11, 2001, we pause to remember the lives lost, honor the first responders and service members who answered the call, and recognize the resilience of a nation forever changed by that day.

The legacy of 9/11 lives not only in remembrance, but in the generations of Americans who chose service, sacrifice and commitment to something greater than themselves.

Today, we honor the fallen, those who responded in our nation’s darkest hours, and the families whose lives were forever changed.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

The logistics of training firefighters can be very challenging, especially on a limited budget.

A district resident and friend of Win-Bur-Sew donated 2 vehicles for us to use in fire and extrication training. These were transported to our training site with the assistance of Maggio's Towing.

Support like this helps us maximize Tax dollars while improving firefighter readiness to protect our community.

Thank you!

Just a reminder of the Village of Winnebago Police Department for National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM!

National Night Out is a great opportunity for residents to come together, meet their local first responders, connect with neighbors, and strengthen the partnerships that help keep our community safe.

This year's event will feature:

🚔 Meet your local police officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel
🐕 K-9 Demonstration
🚗 Classic Car Show
🌭 Free food for all attendees
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family-friendly activities and community engagement

We would also like to invite local businesses and organizations to participate by setting up a booth to showcase their services, products, and community involvement. This is a great opportunity to connect with residents and support a positive community event.

If your business or organization is interested in participating, please contact Lt. Haff via email [email protected]

We look forward to seeing everyone on August 4th for an evening of fun, food, and community spirit!
