The Winona Police Department is now accepting applications for full-time officer position. Applications can be submitted at the police department located at 116 Quitman Street, Winona, MS. Alternatively, applications can be requested via email at [email protected].

Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Possess a valid Mississippi driver's license
• Must pass a background check and drug screening
• Certification in Law Enforcement (or ability to obtain within one year)

Benefits:

•Take home vehicles-within the mileage range
•$18.00/hr- uncertified, $19.00/hr- part-time, $23.00/hr- certified patrolman

The Winona Police Department is now accepting applications for Certified Police Officers.

Requirements:
• Must be currently certified as a law enforcement officer in Mississippi.
• Valid driver’s license
• Good moral character and commitment to public service
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Must be able to successfully pass a background investigation.
• Applications are available for pickup at the Winona Police Department.

The Winona Police Department would like to inform the public that debris cleanup will take place on Middleton Road this Saturday (04/11/2026) morning from approximately 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. During this time, traffic delays are expected. Law enforcement officers will be on scene assisting with traffic control to ensure the safety of both workers and motorists. Motorist are strongly encouraged to use an alternate route, if possible, to avoid delays. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.

‼️ At this morning’s initial appearance, Winona Municipal Court Judge Larry Bamberg denied bond for Detavion Meeks, Sr. Meeks is charged with capital murder in the 2021 death of his 3 month old baby .
