Update! It’s looking great!!

The body, tank and pump module are now set on Winslow Fire Dept's (ME) pumper/tanker.

At approximately 00:28 hours, Winslow Fire-Rescue was dispatched to a reported structure fire across from 129 Shorey Road.

Upon arrival, crews found a well-involved, single-story vacant structure. A second alarm was requested for additional tankers and manpower. Crews worked quickly to contain the fire to the building of origin and prevent it from spreading further.

Water supply was briefly a challenge due to the location but was quickly resolved with assistance from mutual aid tankers.

The fire remains under investigation by the Maine Fire Marshal’s Office.

Winslow Fire-Rescue would like to thank China Fire, Clinton Fire, Vassalboro Fire, Oakland Fire, Sidney Fire, Waterville Fire, Belgrade Fire for station coverage, Delta Ambulance, Waterville Communications Center, and the Maine Fire Marshal’s Office for their assistance.

The chassis for Winslow Fire Dept's (ME) new 3000 gallon pumper/tanker has hit the Assembly floor and is getting prepped to receive its pump module and body.

We are deeply saddened to hear of Harry’s passing. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with Sgt. Damren, his family, and everyone at the Maine State Fire Marshal during this difficult time

Yesterday was a very successful training day! We practiced below-grade rappelling and confined space entry into an underground tunnel, culminating in a simulated victim rescue scenario. Great teamwork, communication, and hands-on experience made for an outstanding day of training. Proud of everyone’s professionalism and dedication to staying prepared for real-world emergencies.

Attention!

Tomorrow afternoon, you will notice a large fire and rescue presence at Pleau’s Market. There is no need for alarm—this is a scheduled training drill for our members and Special Operations Team.

As always, we will remain available to respond to emergency calls throughout the exercise.

We sincerely appreciate Pleau’s Market for allowing us to use their parking lot and look forward to a productive training
