This summer, teens spent eight weeks learning the basics of coding and modding with Mr. Thomas Donofri from CT State Northwestern. Using the game The Simpsons: Hit & Run, they learned how to mod the game while working toward creating their own final projects!🎮👾

At the end of the program, each teen presented their project, demonstrated their game, and showed off some of the coding and modding they learned along the way. We were also joined by Thomas’s professor, Dr. John Jagtiani, for the presentations!

Thomas taught the class as part of his internship through the STEM Scholar Program, funded by the National Science Foundation. A huge thank you to Thomas and congratulations to all of our teens on their awesome projects! 🎉💻

The following photos are a visual “snapshot” of the fun, entertainment and learning experiences our patrons enjoyed because of our collaboration with the Northwest Conservation District and a visit from the Housatonic Valley Association! 🪴🪏🫜 Our three Garden Club groups participated in subjects like geology, water life, soil composition, forest products, microscopic life, Trees Full of Wonder, birding and beekeeping with Annette, a corn husking contest, Teen cooking classes, and harvesting our prolific gardens! 💧🪨🧑‍🌾 This was such a fulfilling year thanks to the leadership of Miss Kelsey and Miss Audra!
