This Networking Night at Sparq might as well have been called Charcuterie and Connections, where attendees were treated to this all-out spread by State of Graze while catching up or getting to know fellow members. Our guests were able to connect directly with our vendors: MJS Live Productions LLC (video and media production), House of Life Tonal Spa (sound baths and electromagnetic healing), and RDM Benefits Inc. (individual and group insurance solutions). Thanks to our vendors and thanks to Sparq for hosting us!

For the past year, we've been asking where Winston-Salem should go next. On November 17, we'll share the answer.

Greater Winston-Salem has spent the year working with Visit Winston-Salem and The Winston-Salem Foundation on Imagine Winston-Salem, a community strategic action plan. We looked closely at where we are today and, most importantly, where we want to go together.

At our Annual Meeting, presented by Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, we'll unveil the plan and hand it back to the community to carry forward. We'll also honor people and organizations doing outstanding work across our region with our annual awards.

These costumes were made for the stage, built to look good all the way from the back row. Up close at your Halloween party, they'll be impossible to miss. ✨

David Lane is new to the Winston-Salem Dash, but he brought more than 25 years of leadership lessons to yesterday's Lunch with Leaders.

David joined the Winston-Salem Dash as President and General Manager in September, after serving as General Manager of the Rome Emperors.

He even let us take a few at bats after he finished sharing. (We may have a few members on the verge of some contracts) 👀

Two teams, one cup, bragging rights included.

Our sixth annual Golf Tournament, presented by Truliant Federal Credit Union, brought its Ryder Cup twist back to Bermuda Run Country Club. Captain’s choice settled the scorecard, while Red vs. Blue settled the bragging rights.
Team Blue took the Trophy this year! Hit play to see how the day unfolded. ⛳️

Every state in the Southeast pitches great people and great weather. So how does North Carolina stand out?

North Carolina's edge is research: five R1 universities and a top five ranking for NIH and NSF funding.

And right here in Winston-Salem, we have schools like Wake Forest University and Forsyth Tech, plus a partnership you might not expect. University of North Carolina School of the Arts and Winston-Salem State University are teaming up on virtual reality training for nurses. An arts school and an HBCU, building the future of health care together.

A lot of 10th graders may be stating to dream up their career path. Last Wednesday, they got to explore many more!

World of Work brought sophomores from every school in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County to the Benton Convention Center to step into six industry "worlds": Aviation/Aerospace, Advanced Manufacturing, Construction, Technology, Healthcare & Life Sciences, and Business Services.

Local employers turned their booths into hands-on experiences, and students left with a clearer picture of how work-based learning and apprenticeships can take them from a classroom to a career.

For employers, this is early recruiting in the truest sense. The students in that room are the workforce our region will rely on, and our goal is to help them build those careers right here in Winston-Salem.

Introducing Imagine Winston-Salem! A new podcast series from Greater Winston-Salem Inc. Every episode, President and CEO Mark Owens will sit down with the people imagining what's next for this city.

The premiere episode is out now, featuring North Carolina Secretary of Commerce Lee Lilley! North Carolina just posted its best year on record for job announcements and capital investment, and Secretary Lilley is quick to say the awards aren't the point. The real measure, he told Mark, is wages going up and communities getting stronger.
