No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.

That message is bigger than a slogan. It is a declaration that public life belongs to the people, not to unchecked power. CCUI is organizing with that conviction in Winston-Salem and Forsyth County because democracy should answer to communities, protect the vulnerable, and stay accountable to the public good.

We Decide.

If that vision speaks to you, stay connected and keep showing up.

Did you know North Carolina voters showed major turnout in the last general election?

The North Carolina State Board of Elections reported that 5,699,141 ballots were cast in the 2024 general election, representing 73.17% turnout of registered voters.[1]

Those numbers are a reminder that participation is powerful. When more people are ready, informed, and connected, democracy reflects more of the public it is supposed to serve.

Forsyth County, let us keep building that kind of participation here at home.

🗳️ **EARLY VOTING 2026: WHAT THE NUMBERS ARE TELLING US**

There's a lot of talk about voter turnout in North Carolina. Some say Democrats aren't turning out in sufficient numbers. Others say Republicans are beginning to surge.

But what does the actual data tell us?

**Here's what we know through October 25, compared with the same point in the 2022 midterm election:**

🔵 **Democratic early voting is significantly higher.** Registered Democrats are voting at a much stronger pace than in 2022.

⚪ **Unaffiliated voters are also showing a major increase.** Their participation is one of the strongest trends in this election.

✊🏿 **Black voter turnout is up 61%.** That's a substantial increase in ballots cast compared with the same point in 2022.

🎓 **Young voters under age 30 are up 101%!** That's more than double the number of ballots cast at this point in 2022. This is a statewide figure, not a measurement of the recent Winston-Salem State University march.

🙌 **Voters who don't regularly participate are showing up.** Among historically sporadic voters, 14.1% of registered Democrats had already voted, compared with 5.8% of registered Republicans.

**WHAT ABOUT THE REPUBLICAN SURGE?**

Republicans are voting, too. Their early-vote totals are approximately 4% higher than at the same point in 2022.

And yes, Republicans have increased their share of ballots cast on certain individual early-voting days.

But here's the important distinction:

**An increase in the Republican share of daily voting does not necessarily mean Republicans are making a significant comeback.**

So far, the available numbers do not establish that kind of surge.

**WHAT CAN WE CONCLUDE?**

We can conclude that early voting participation is significantly higher among registered Democrats, unaffiliated voters, Black voters and young voters compared with 2022.

We cannot conclude who is winning an election. Party registration does not tell us which candidates people voted for, and early voting does not tell us what Election Day will bring.

**HERE'S THE NUMBER TO WATCH:**

Will Republicans begin capturing a substantially larger percentage of the ballots cast each day during the final week of early voting? And how will that percentage compare with the same days in 2022?

That's what will tell us whether a late Republican early-voting surge is actually developing.

At Camel City United Indivisible, we believe in looking at the numbers, asking the right questions, and letting the facts speak for themselves.

**Early voting continues through Saturday, October 31, ending at 3 PM.**

Every eligible voter deserves the opportunity to participate.

Not sure what support is available before you vote?

CCUI helps connect neighbors with free voter readiness resources designed to make participation easier. That can include checking registration information, making a voting plan, learning what is on the ballot, and finding help resources when questions come up.

This support is about access, clarity, and confidence. It is part of how we build a stronger, more inclusive democracy in Forsyth County.

Start where you are. Get the information you need. Then help another neighbor get ready too.

👑 **NO KINGS: WHAT COMES NEXT? LET'S TALK ABOUT IT.**

It's been one week since our historic No Kings mobilization, and the early voting numbers are encouraging!

According to preliminary national data from TargetSmart, early voting increased **51% compared to the same Saturday in 2022** in ZIP codes where No Kings events were held.

But the movement is already looking beyond Election Day.

Indivisible and the national No Kings coalition are calling for continued election protection efforts and preparing for possible mass, peaceful, nonviolent demonstrations if attempts are made to undermine the election results.

**Here's my question to our community:**

🤔 **Do you believe this is the right way to move forward?**

Should we continue building a nationwide movement prepared to mobilize peacefully if our democracy and election results are threatened?

Or should we concentrate more of our energy on building local grassroots organizations, strengthening neighborhoods, protecting voters, and holding elected officials accountable?

**Can we do both?**

Here in Winston-Salem, we've seen what happens when people come together. But the bigger question is how we turn that energy into lasting community power.

I believe this deserves a serious conversation.

👇 **What do you think? Is this the right direction for the No Kings movement after November 3?**

Let's hear your thoughts. Respectful disagreement is welcome.

October 15 is the first day of early voting in North Carolina.

For many voters, the hardest part is not caring about the outcome. It is getting a plan in place and following through. That is why CCUI is sharing free tools to help neighbors prepare now: registration checks, voting-plan support, ballot information, and help resources.

If you have been meaning to get organized, let this be your reminder. Make your plan before the first day arrives, and talk to the people in your circle about theirs too.

We Decide.

Democracy gets stronger when neighbors know each other well enough to act together.

CCUI organizes block by block through conversations, house meetings, canvassing, and local relationships that turn concern into collective action. This work is not about waiting for someone else to fix what is broken. It is about building the network we need right here in Winston-Salem and Forsyth County.

WELCOME TO CAMEL CITY UNITED INDIVISIBLE.

We Rise Together when people choose connection over isolation and courage over silence.

Did you know early voting is already how millions of North Carolinians make their voices heard?

The North Carolina State Board of Elections reported 3,656,493 in-person early votes in the 2024 general election.[2]

That matters here in Winston-Salem and across Forsyth County. Early voting gives people more flexibility, more time to solve problems, and more opportunities to follow through on their plan.

If you have not made your voting plan yet, now is the time. CHECK. PLAN. VOTE.

🎉 **AN AMAZING SECOND “PULL UP & POLITIC” AT BAR NOLA!**

What an interesting evening of politics, honest conversation, and community engagement in Winston-Salem!

Our second **Pull Up & Politic**, held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Bar NOLA, brought together **four Republicans and one Democrat**, creating an opportunity for meaningful dialogue across party lines.

One of the most interesting conversations centered on **North Carolina's Opportunity Scholarship Program**.

What stood out was that **Democrats and Republicans in the room agreed** that the program was disproportionately benefiting wealthier families rather than the families it was originally designed to help. There was agreement that the program needs reform to better serve those who need educational opportunities the most.

Another interesting moment came from **Ernie Leyba, Republican candidate for Forsyth County Sheriff**, who indicated that he could work with **Amara Hunter**, the Democratic candidate for district attorney, if she is elected.

He also expressed no strong objection to the current district attorney, Jim O'Neill, supporting a Democratic candidate.

**That's what made this evening so interesting!**

We had different political parties, different perspectives, and some unexpected areas of agreement.

**We don't have to agree on everything to find common ground.**

Pull Up & Politic is about creating spaces where candidates, community leaders, and everyday citizens can sit together, ask questions, listen, and have meaningful conversations about the issues affecting our community.

👏 Thank you to everyone who participated and to **Bar NOLA** for hosting!

**Democracy isn't just about Election Day. It's about the conversations, relationships, and understanding we build along the way.**

🚨🔥 **FORSYTH COUNTY, ARE YOU SEEING THESE NUMBERS?!** 🔥🚨

**EARLY VOTING IS UP 56% COMPARED TO 2022!** 📈🗳️

YES! YOU READ THAT RIGHT! **FIFTY-SIX PERCENT!**

In the first TWO DAYS of early voting:

🗳️ **2022: 10,495 voters**

🗳️ **2026: 16,371 voters**

🔥 **That's 5,876 MORE PEOPLE showing up to vote!**

And more than **4,600 Black voters** have already cast their ballots!

THIS IS WHAT MOMENTUM LOOKS LIKE! 💪🏾

October 10 — We kicked off a week of action!

October 15 — The Repairers of the Breach and Poor People's Campaign marched to the polls!

October 17 — NO KINGS brought our communities together again, reminding us that democracy belongs to the PEOPLE!

And now the early voting numbers are speaking for themselves!

But hold on! ✋🏾

**IT'S ONLY BEEN TWO DAYS!**

We cannot predict the election from two days of turnout. But we CAN recognize something exciting: people are showing up, participating, and making their voices heard!

Now comes the next big push: **OCTOBER 19–24!**

Six more days to keep the momentum building. Talk to your neighbors. Help someone make a voting plan. Offer a ride. Share accurate voting information.

Because democracy isn't a spectator sport!

🔥 **FORSYTH COUNTY, HERE'S MY QUESTION:**

**Are these numbers getting YOU excited? And what do YOU think it will take to keep this momentum going?**

👇🏾 DROP YOUR THOUGHTS IN THE COMMENTS!

Let's hear from Winston-Salem, Kernersville, Clemmons, Rural Hall, Lewisville, Walkertown, and every neighborhood across Forsyth County!

**56% AHEAD OF 2022. AND WE'RE JUST GETTING STARTED!** 🚀
