Early this morning, units from the 2nd and 3rd Battalions were dispatched to the house on fire in the 15000 block of Blackburn Road in Woodbridge.

🚨 RIVER RESCUE 🚨

Yesterday afternoon, units assigned to the Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue Marine Division were dispatched to the Potomac River for a report of a sailboat adrift.

Shore-based units quickly located the vessel off Leesylvania State Park and began coordinating with our Marine units responding to the scene.

While Marine units were underway, the small sailboat overturned, throwing the occupant into the water. Fire Boat 512 arrived moments later and quickly pulled the victim aboard their vessel, bringing them safely out of the water.

Thankfully, our crews were able to respond quickly and get the victim to safety. But this incident is also an important reminder of how quickly conditions can change on the water.

units were assisted by Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton Volunteer Fire Department, U.S. Coast Guard, Quantico Fire & Emergency Services, and Charles County.

⚠️ Wear Your PFD! ⚠️

The person rescued yesterday was not wearing a personal flotation device (PFD). A life jacket can be the difference between a close call and a tragedy—especially when someone unexpectedly ends up in the water.

If you’re heading out on the Potomac, wear your PFD, make sure it fits properly, and have one readily accessible for every person aboard. Don’t wait until you’re in the water to wish you had one on.

🌊 Enjoy the water. Be prepared. Wear your life jacket.

🥎 MDA Softball Tournament Update! 🥎

After dropping our opening game to Loudoun County Professional Firefighters, Prince William Local 2598 bounced back in a big way! 💪

The team battled back with two straight wins, building some momentum and keeping the tournament run alive. Unfortunately, the streak came to an end against Prince George’s Professional Firefighters — “PGFD Smoke 2.”

A tough finish, but our guys left it all on the field and represented Local 2598 proudly! 👊🔥

A big thank you to everyone who came out, played, cheered, and supported the team — all while helping raise money and awareness for an incredible cause through the MDA Softball Tournament.

Win or lose, we’re always fighting for the cause! ❤️🥎
