This past weekend members completed a 16-hour specialized course titled School Bus Extrication Operations that lead into a Township wide drill working in unison with other Township Fire Departments, Perth Amboy Fire Department, Rahway Fire Department, Police and Emergency Medical Services.

The course / drill provided members with realistic, hands-on experience involving simulated school bus collisions. Members trained on vehicle stabilization, vehicle lifting and moving, patient access, extrication techniques, and emergency medical patient care. School bus incidents present unique challenges to emergency responders because of the vehicle's size, anatomy, passenger capacity, and the potential for multiple patients. The course / drill allowed members to train under controlled conditions while developing the skills and coordination necessary to safely manage a complex incident.

🚒 Fire Prevention Week | Woodbridge Fire Department 🚒

The Woodbridge Fire Department promotes fire safety awareness during Fire Prevention Week, encouraging residents to take proactive steps to protect their homes, families, and community. Together, we can help prevent fires and keep our community safe!

We encourage all residents to take time to review fire safety practices, check smoke alarms, and establish a home fire escape plan. Being prepared and knowing how to respond in an emergency can make a life-saving difference.

Fire prevention begins with each of us. By staying informed and taking the proper precautions, we can work together to protect our families, neighbors, and community.

🔥 Prevention today can save lives tomorrow!
