Keeping Gloucester County Roads Safe and Maintained! 🚧

The Gloucester County Department of Public Works continues its efforts to maintain and improve county roadways throughout our communities!

From roadside mowing and pothole repairs to storm drain maintenance, fallen tree removal, and street sweeping, our crews are hard at work keeping our roads safe, clean, and well-maintained.

Recent work took place in Elk, Monroe, Mantua, Greenwich, Washington Township, and Woodbury Heights.

The Gloucester County Board of Commissioners thanks our dedicated Public Works employees for their continued efforts to maintain our county's roads and infrastructure for residents and motorists!

Singing for a Great Cause! 🎤🎶

Deputy Director Jim Jefferson attended the United Way of Gloucester County's vocal competition fundraiser in support of its United for Children initiative, which is dedicated to eliminating child poverty in Gloucester County.

The afternoon was filled with incredible performances, community spirit, and talented vocalists showcasing their skills! Karen Rogers of 6abc Action News served as emcee, keeping the audience entertained throughout the event.

Thank you to the United Way of Gloucester County, the performers, and everyone who helped make this special event a success while supporting such an important cause!

Woodbury's Annual Car Show! 🚗

Deputy Director Jim Jefferson kicked off his Saturday in his hometown of Woodbury for the city's annual car show!

The event brought together an impressive collection of classic cars, car enthusiasts, and residents for a great day celebrating this local tradition and the strong sense of community that makes Woodbury special!

Putting Your Health First! 🩺💙

The Gloucester County Department of Health, under the leadership of Deputy Director Jim Jefferson, recently visited the Gloucester County Store at the Deptford Mall to provide residents with free health screenings.

Public Health Nurse Liz Grant and Rowan University Nursing Intern Samantha Gervasi were on hand to assist residents, including Deptford Mayor Paul Medany, who stopped by to make his health a priority!

Regular health screenings are an important part of maintaining good health, and the Gloucester County Department of Health remains committed to making preventive health services accessible to our residents.

Thank you to our dedicated public health team for helping keep Gloucester County healthy!

Deputy Director Jim Jefferson stopped by Second Baptist Church in Paulsboro to celebrate a very special milestone—Ms. Flora McCormick’s 104th birthday!

At 104 years young, Ms. McCormick continues to inspire those around her with her wisdom, kindness, and beautiful spirit.

The Gloucester County Board of Commissioners extends its warmest birthday wishes to Ms. McCormick and wishes her continued happiness, good health, and many more moments of joy!

Celebrating the Opening of Sophia’s Space! 🛝💙

Deputy Director Jim Jefferson and Commissioners Joann Gattinelli and Matthew Weng attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Sophia’s Space, the new inclusive and adaptive playground at Washington Lake Park in Washington Township.

What began more than eight years ago with a single swing designed for children with disabilities has grown into a beautiful, inclusive playground where children of all abilities can play, explore, and make memories together.

Sophia’s Space is a wonderful example of how a simple idea can grow into something that makes a lasting difference in the community.

Congratulations to everyone who helped bring this special project to life and create a welcoming space for all children to enjoy! 💙

A 10-mile, point-to-point race beginning at Kings Court in Haddonfield and finishing at Red Bank Battlefield.

7th Annual Fort Mercer 5K Run
An out-and-back course beginning and ending at Red Bank Battlefield.

Fall Paddles at Scotland Run Park!

Enjoy the beauty of fall from the water! Join the Gloucester County Scotland Run Park Nature Center for a guided canoe or kayak tour of Wilson Lake and experience the sights and sounds of nature.

📍 Location: Wilson Lake Beach, Scotland Run Park

Participants must arrive by 9:15 AM and be able to operate a canoe or kayak.

🐾 Microchip Mania at the Gloucester County Animal Shelter!

The Gloucester County Animal Shelter recently hosted its Microchip Mania event in recognition of Responsible Pet Ownership Month!

Director Frank J. DiMarco and Commissioner Tom Bianco attended the event, which helped 27 pets receive microchips, providing an important layer of protection in the event they become lost.

Microchipping provides permanent identification and greatly increases the chances of reuniting lost pets with their families. Thanks to the dedicated Gloucester County Animal Shelter staff, each pet's microchip was also registered during the clinic.
