Starting tomorrow afternoon we are expecting heavy rains. The national weather service has issued a Flood watch with possible amount of 2 inches per day. Do not attempt to drive through flooded intersections. If you live in the hills there is possibilities of mud slides. If driving on the freeway, try to stay out of the fast lane as this is often flooded and can cause your car to hydroplane or spin out.

We have a significant weather system coming starting this evening. Forecasts are for 2-4 inches with potential of 3-6 in the mountains and foothills. Please do not attempt to drive through flooded streets. Be on the look out for down trees and wires. Stay out of any flood control areas.

We have had a mild Summer so far this year. That is about to change. We are expecting 109 on Thursday and Friday in Woodland Hills. Make sure you hydrate before going out in the heat. Please keep your pets inside. This heat wave is also coming with low humidity and some breezes. This means fire weather. Look around your properties for anything that might catch fire from blowing embers if we have any fires.
Please note this reminder to ALL CERT Members: CERT is not a political organization and, as part of our rules, does NOT endorse political issues or candidates while wearing our gear. That has happened today in DTLA. This person, wearing PURPOSELY ALTERED GEAR, was photographed walking down one of our downtown streets with other demonstrators. Fortunate for them, they were photo'd from the back and are generally unidentifiable. Nevertheless, just a reminder to ALL CERTs that you can assert your 1st Amendment right...JUST NOT IN CERT UNIFORM/GEAR.
