A request for my neighbors: the City of Woodstock is applying for a grant that would provide 80% of the needed funds to extend and build on the accessibility paths in Woodstock to connect to the soon to be IDOT path that will run parallel to the expanded Route 47.
The best things we can include in our grant application is personal letters.
As a cyclist I can’t wait for this multi-use path. Take a moment to write a letter or ask me how you can help the effort.

Pretty proud of this one. Truly an honor to be able to donate $4,200 to the D200 Auto Club and celebrate today’s students taking an active interest in the trades.

The cool Wednesday after-school spot for Blue Streaks, Thunder, and Clay Academy students who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty is in the back of Woodstock High School. The D200 Auto Club, which meets in the school’s auto shop, is firing on all cylinders with anywhere from 10 to 20 students...

Apologies to anyone who came earlier in the evening, but sitting on the Square on a beautiful night right now, glowing in pink. Come check out the pink perimeter lights. Dolly would be proud.

✨ A little exciting news for Woodstock! ✨🦋🦋

As Dolly Parton has said, "If you see someone without a smile, give them yours.” And if there’s anyone who has spent a lifetime doing exactly that, it’s Dolly. 💗

I’m excited to share that I approached the City about lighting our Square pink through September 1, in recognition of the incomparable Dolly Parton, alongside the flags being flown at half-staff.

I’m grateful that my fellow council members agreed, and I want to give a huge shout-out to our incredible City of Woodstock IL- City Hall staff, especially the Woodstock Opera House staff for taking this idea and running with it. They worked through the logistics, found a way to make it happen, and even added some thoughtful touches that I think will make this tribute extra special. This is exactly the kind of behind-the-scenes work that deserves a round of applause. 👏💗🦋🩷

You can expect to see the Square begin lighting up TONIGHT, and there may even be a few very special touches that Dolly fans will appreciate. 😉

There are a small handful of people who come along in this world that seemingly everyone can agree are true treasures. Dolly is one of them. Her music, her generosity, her philanthropy, her heart, and the sheer number of lives she has touched are almost impossible to measure. I truly don’t think anyone comes close to Dolly when it comes to doing good for people around the world.

So, Woodstock, let’s light it up pink and celebrate a true American treasure. ✨🩷

And I’m especially excited to try my hand at the All Seasons Apple Orchard Corn Maze this year, which is honoring Dolly as well. I have a feeling this one is going to be extra special!

6/30/26 UPDATE: The National Weather Service has extended the Heat Warning for our area through at least Thursday.
---
A Heat Advisory is in effect for McHenry County from noon today through 10PM Wednesday, with heat index values expected to reach around 105 degrees each afternoon. These conditions can be dangerous, especially for anyone without access to air‑conditioning.

We’ve partnered with the McHenry County Emergency Management Agency to share the updated list of cooling centers open throughout the county. If you need a safe, air‑conditioned place to cool down, please review the available locations.
Remember to drink plenty of water, limit time outdoors, stay out of direct sun, and check on neighbors who may need assistance. Never leave children or pets in vehicles.

Stay updated on available cooling centers at bit.ly/ema-seasonal-awareness.

So excited this news is out there! I want to personally thank everyone who wrote and submitted a letter of support, I’m told it was those letters that put Woodstock over the edge :)

GREAT NEWS: Last year, the City of Woodstock IL- City Hall applied for a Safe Routes to Schools grant from the State of Illinois and asked for D200's help providing data to improve pedestrian routes for Mary Endres and Northwood students along Route 47. The City was recently awarded $250,000 to start work next spring! This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is greater than words can ever fully express.

No matter where we may stand politically or personally, I believe we can all agree on one thing: our service members are the true celebrities among us. They and their families carry burdens and sacrifices many will never fully understand.

As the daughter, mother, partner, and sister of veterans, this day is deeply personal to me. Today, we remember those we have lost while also celebrating and supporting the veterans who are still with us — the ones who continue to serve our communities long after their military service ends.

As long as I am able, I will continue to proudly participate as an elected official in Woodstock’s amazing Memorial Day tradition — standing alongside our community to honor those who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy today.

May we never take their courage, sacrifice, and dedication for granted.

Wishing everyone a meaningful and reflective Memorial Day. 🇺🇸
