The Windsor County Democrats Election Year August 22 Pasta Supper event is 14 days away! It's time to get your tickets!

Confirmed speakers include our Gov nominee (both candidates have confirmed being available) and our Lt Gov nominee (all three candidates have confirmed being available). This will be a great opportunity to hear from our top two state nominees together after the Primary. We will also have our VDP Executive Director May Hanlon with us and she always brings great energy to the program. Rep Becca Balint has promised us a recorded message which we will play. Unfortunately Rep Balint and Sen Welch (both financial sponsors) are unavailable to attend, but I am still in conversation with Sen Sanders office so stay tuned.

We have some great silent auction items beginning to appear. Including a coupon for attendance at an artist retreat workshop at the Smiley Manse in Springfield, VT. Valued at over $2,700! Donated by Nate Ells and Jennifer Nelson. We are still looking for more items or experiences to add into the mix. Please be in touch with BJ ([email protected]) if you have an idea of something that you could donate. All proceeds from this Pasta Supper event and silent auction will go directly to the candidates fund to support a fully Blue wave during the Nov 3 General Election.

Tickets and sponsorships available at this link https://secure.actblue.com/donate/pastasupper2026

If you would like to pay by check please email [email protected] to arrange that option.

If the $30 ticket price is a hardship, please contact BJ directly (email above) and we have you covered thanks to the generosity of some anonymous donors. The ticket price should not and is not a barrier to attending.

This is one of the Windsor County Democrats largest events and we look forward to seeing all our candidates and supporters there!

Windsor County Democrats Statement on Vermont’s 2026 Windsor County Sheriff Primary

It has come to the attention of the Windsor County Democratic Committee that on Monday August 3, 2026, Joshua Lake, one of the three Democratic candidates for Windsor County Sheriff, received a Giglio letter jointly signed by Steven Brown, State’s Attorney for Windham County and Domenica Padula, Chief, Criminal Division, Office of the Vermont Attorney General. This Giglio letter was issued as a result of an investigation by the Vermont State Police (not as a result of investigations by Sheriff Ryan Palmer).

The term Giglio refers back to a United States Supreme Court case (Giglio v. United States). A Giglio letter is issued by prosecutors when they learn of information that a law enforcement officer has acted in a way that calls into question their credibility. In Vermont, a Giglio letter is a formal disclosure by a prosecutor indicating that an officer has a documented history of dishonesty, bias, or misconduct that undermines their credibility as a witness.

As of today, it appears that Joshua Lake has decided to remain a candidate in the race. In a Sheriff candidate forum sponsored by Windsor County Democrats on Wednesday June 24, 2026, in answering a question about Giglio situations, Joshua Lake stated in his own answer that he “100% believes that we should not have law enforcement working the streets with Brady or Giglio letters.” One can find a link to this recorded forum on the Windsor County Democrats website www.windsorcountydemocrats.org.

While the Windsor County Democratic Committee does not endorse candidates prior to the August primary election, we encourage voters to carefully consider all the facts, including the facts shared above, read continuing news coverage on this unfolding story, and learn more about the two other Democratic candidates who are running for Windsor County Sheriff – Chris Norton of Springfield, Vermont, and Claude Weyant of Windsor, Vermont.

The Trump admin has locked up thousands of CHILDREN at the Dilley Trailer Prison. Kids have been fed food with worms and mold and had medical attention delayed, if not denied - all funded by our tax dollars.

I stand in solidarity with my colleagues there today. Shut it down now!
