⬇️Some tasks include...⬇️

🌼Order daffodil and other spring bulbs for October planting.
🌱Sow rye grass seed for winter lawns.
🌹Plant hardy annuals.
✳️Apply preemergence herbicide for winter w**d prevention in your lawn.
💦Fertilize and water fall mums.
🐛Watch for garden pests and diseases.
🥀Pick flowers in bloom to create dry floral arrangements.

🪰 LOVEBUG SEASON IS HERE!

Seeing lovebugs covering your vehicle, porch, or driveway? Don’t worry, these familiar orange and black flies are mostly a nuisance, and there is no practical way to eliminate an entire lovebug population.

🚗 Protect your vehicle:
• Wash lovebugs off regularly.
• Wet the surface and let them soak for a few minutes before washing with soapy water.
• Avoid letting crushed lovebugs remain on your vehicle, especially in the sun.
• Check your radiator regularly during heavy flights to prevent insect buildup and overheating.

🏡 Around your home:
• Remove accumulated lovebugs with a broom, hose, or vacuum.
• Avoid unnecessary insecticide applications, new lovebugs can continue arriving during heavy flights.
• Remember that lovebug flights are generally shortlived, often lasting only a few weeks.

🌱 The good news: Lovebug larvae develop in decaying organic matter and generally do not damage lawns or landscapes.

🦌Mississippi State University Extension, the MSU Deer Lab, and the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks are partnering with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries and LSU Extension to host a deer management seminar for hunters, land managers, and the general public.
