Congrats to Kean Elementary September HJPO, Claire Audet. Claire is a leader and a role model here at Kean. She is a very responsible young person who works hard on her academics. Claire makes sure that she is organized and ready to start each day. She begins it with a smile and a hello and ends it with the same smile and a goodbye. Claire is kind to her classmates and works well with everyone.Great job Claire!!

CONGRATULATIONS to Wooster Police Officer Josh Miller on receiving the GUARDIAN AWARD from the Mental Health & Recovery Board of Wayne and Holmes County last night at their annual dinner. The Guardian Award honors a first responder (law enforcement, fire, EMS, dispatch, etc.) who demonstrates exceptional dedication and compassion in serving individuals experiencing behavioral health crises, including mental health and/or substance use concerns.

Officer Miller serves as one of our Hospital Resource Officers and was nominated as the letter states: "In this critical role, he engages daily with individuals in crisis, providing calm, compassionate, and skilled support when it is most needed." Josh has also been integral to the evolution and success of the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) approach at the Wooster Police Department and in Wayne and Holmes Counties.

Officer Miller is pictured with MHRB Executive Director Nicole Miller and MHRB Executive Board Vice Chair, Assistant Chief Scott Rotolo.

Great job by Sgt. Telquist and Officer Wellman this morning for rescuing this beautiful red tailed hawk and transferring him over to Stark County Parks Wildlife Conservation Center for rehabilitation to get him back skyward!🦅

Ohio red tailed hawk fun facts:

The red-tailed hawk is Ohio's most common and frequently seen large bird of prey, easily spotted soaring over open fields or perched along highway light poles. They possess eyesight EIGHT times sharper than humans, a dramatic talon-locking courtship dance, and a famous screech often used in movies for eagles. Cruising speed of 20-40 mph but can reach speeds of 120 mph when diving for food.
