It is always a great pleasure to have the Panda Preschool classes come to the station and learn about fire safety. Honestly not sure who has a better time with it, the kids or our members who get to participate.

Our annual Trick or Treat will be on Halloween night with the party to follow at Station 1 in New Pittsburg.

New Pittsburg Fire Department provided mutual aid to Town & Country Fire today for a shed fire that involved a large amount of hay, straw, and farm equipment.

Our crews operated on scene for close to 8 hours in the heat, working to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading. When you wonder how firefighters are able to operate for that long in these conditions, take a look at the picture of all the empty water and electrolyte bottles. Staying hydrated and replacing electrolytes is a critical part of keeping our firefighters safe during extended operations. 💧🥤

The fire also required a tremendous amount of water. Our engine used over a full tank of fuel simply pumping water to the fire, so we even had to bring additional fuel to the scene to keep the engine operating.

A long-duration fire like this takes a tremendous amount of manpower, equipment, water, fuel, and teamwork.

We are proud of our firefighters for putting in the hard work and grateful to Town & Country Fire for the opportunity to assist our neighboring department.

🔥 Mutual aid is what the fire service is all about — departments working together to protect our communities.

Thank you to everyone who supported our crews today! Stay safe! 🚒
