☑Vote YES on Question 7! Led by Legalize Starter Homes, it would make it legal to build new single-family homes on lots of 5,000 square feet (about the size of an NBA basketball court) wherever there is public sewer and water service. Allowing homes to be built on smaller lots will facilitate smaller, lower-cost homes instead of giant McMansions built to justify the cost of buying so much land, generating an estimated 2,200 to 5,700 new homes per year.
Smaller lots, means smaller homes that cost significantly less to build and buy – making homeownership more achievable for young families, seniors looking to downsize, and first-time homebuyers of all ages. Every city and town in Massachusetts will be able to set reasonable regulations locally so that it works for their community.

Thank you to Bank of America who joined us recently at 33 Ripley St., our affordable home build in Worcester. Habitat for Humanity MW/GW is grateful to have received a $10,000 grant through Bank of America’s Global Build initiative. This effort also commemorates 40 years of partnership between Bank of America and Habitat for Humanity International.
The team from Bank of America Greater Worcester spent the day working alongside the future owner of 33 Ripley, regular volunteers, and Habitat staff, digging post holes for fencing, and taping and plastering the basement walls.

Today we attended the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce Game Changers 2026 conference at Mechanics Hall in Worcester, MA.
This conference convened leaders from business, government, and the nonprofit sector to explore how housing shapes the ability of companies and communities to grow and thrive. It featured insights from two keynote speakers and expert-led workshops, to examine emerging trends, policy tools, and market-driven solutions that can help unlock housing development and support long-term economic growth.
