At Habitat for Humanity—MetroWest/Greater Worcester (HFH-MW/GW), our motto is “A hand up, not a handout.” We are dedicated to building houses with families, not for them. We partner with hardworking families who earn between 30% – 60% of the area median income and do not qualify for other homeownership programs. Not only do Habitat families pay for their homes through a monthly mortgage, they also put in between 400 and 500 hours of sweat equity prior to becoming homeowners. Habitat homes are built completely through donations and volunteer labor of individuals, organizations, businesses and foundations throughout the MetroWest and Greater Worcester areas that have chosen to partner with HFH-MW/GW to eliminate substandard housing in their communities. Because of this we are able to sell our homes at a below market value to qualifying families in our service area. We convey our homes to pre-qualified families with interest-free mortgages at a price based on 30% of family income, less the estimated costs of taxes, insurance and utilities. People in your community, and all over the world, partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With our help, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability, and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.

Special thanks goes out to the Upton Affordable Housing Trust and the Town of Upton. Together we are turning this overgrown lot into a brand-new, affordable home for a local family. ❤🏠

We appreciate and thank you for your generous support helping local families and veterans to live in a safe and affordable home. For 50 years, Habitat for Humanity International has been a global movement of people working together to build more prosperous, vibrant communities and expanding access to safe and affordable homes. This year also marks the 40th Carter Work Project, which has engaged more than 109,600 volunteers in 14 countries to build, renovate or repair 4,472 homes over the years. Recently, hundreds of volunteers, key partners, homeowners, led by the Atlanta Habitat for Humanity, came together to build 24 new single-family homes and townhomes in southwest Atlanta. All of Habitat continues to be grateful for the contributions of President and Mrs. Carter to our mission and the world!
