College Democrats of WPI

Currently the senate is made up of 50 democrats and 49 Republicans. WPI College Democrats is fundraising to support the Warnock campaign to help ensure the people of Georgia are represented by a responsible, experienced candidate who will shape federal legislation for the next six years. GBM activity for tomorrow as Georgia goes into a run off election

Our first event of the term and the last one before the midterm election on November 8th. This election is crucial and we want to do what we can to help candidates such as John Fetterman win their races!

First off, we’d like to thank everyone who supported our fundraiser. We raised $225 for and sold around 95% of our stickers! Protecting abortion access and reproductive rights is something that WPI college democrats and many who came to speak with us care about deeply but our event didn’t come without backlash. Therefore, we want to continue to defend our stance to those who may be on the fence or even outright disagree. We’d like to welcome all members of the WPI community to speak up and share their opinion about this issue. We’re looking forward to speaking with all of you.

Due to an increase in covid cases among our members and the student body in general, we will be meeting on zoom this week.

As reproductive rights and bodily autonomy are being stripped away for many across the country, we are happy to announce that we will be selling stickers in the CC on Wednesday. All proceeds from the stickers and any other donations will go to Planned Parenthood Massachusetts. Feel free to stop by and talk to us about why the right to chose matters and learn more about our club!

We’re excited to announce that this week we will be having a conversation with to help decrease the stigma surrounding psychedelics plants. Thank you so much for your efforts which have now lead to the second biggest city in the New England to recognize the benefits of these types of plants. Join us Thursday at 5 be part of the conversation!

Hope everyone is doing well during midterm week. For our GBM we will be discussing different midterms… the US midterm election which are coming up later this year. The midterms have a lot less voter turnout than Presidential election years but are still very important. Join us to find out why!
