Healthy homes are an important part of healthy communities.

Poor indoor air quality, extreme temperatures, mold, allergens, and inefficient heating or ventilation systems can contribute to respiratory illness, asthma triggers, and other health concerns, especially for children, older adults, and individuals with chronic conditions.

A free or reduced-cost Home Energy Assessment can help identify opportunities to:
• Improve indoor air quality
• Increase home comfort and ventilation
• Reduce exposure to environmental health risks
• Lower energy costs and utility burden
• Support healthier living conditions year-round

Creating healthier housing helps support overall community health and well-being.

The Worcester Division of Public Health (DPH), in partnership with the Division of Youth Opportunities (DYO) and the Worcester Police Department (WPD), recently completed a successful Sticker Shock Campaign to help prevent underage drinking and promote responsible alcohol sales.

With the help of youth volunteers, over 250 warning stickers were placed at local liquor stores across the city—reminding customers that providing alcohol to minors is illegal and harmful.

This collaborative effort highlights the power of youth leadership, community partnerships, and prevention-focused strategies to support the health and wellbeing of Worcester’s young people.
