As summer turns to fall, it is time for the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs fall conference.

That being said, the Nobles County Veterans Services Office will be closed from Monday, September 14th through Wednesday, September 16th.

I will see you on the 17th and beyond!

The summer of '26 is flying by so fast that I am posting my office closure a day late. So here goes...

The Nobles County Veterans Services Office will be closed the week of August 10th through the 14th. This is vacation week and a time to catch up on things around the house and chill out for a bit.

When I return to the office, I have a pretty stout list that I will be working on, and if you leave a message, I will try to return all calls that first morning back, and we can launch a plan to get your needs addressed and taken care of.

Have a great week and I will see you very soon!

Happy Friday!

I know it is just a bit warm out there, but tomorrow should be a touch better for the 6:30 parade in Adrian for the 150th birthday of the town!

Look for us in the parade; I will be pretty close to the front, as I will also pull the American Legion members who don't want to march (who would want to when it is that hot???).

I will be at the Legion Post Home by 4:30 if anyone wants to come in and say "Hi" or ask a question or two. I will also be around for a while after the parade. I hope to see some of you there.

Sunday morning, I will be helping to serve breakfast at the firehall, and the crowd promises to be pretty big on that one!

On a side note, I will be out of the office on Monday but in the rest of the week.

Have a great weekend and come to Adrian to celebrate a milestone!

This is on my tall file cabinet in my office and stands as a tribute to all who have served our nation in the Armed Forces.

Our Founding Fathers, whose dreams of a more perfect union led to the signing of the Declaration of Independence 250 years ago, were bold and risked their lives to stand up against the British Empire.

They built the structure of this great experiment in self-governance, but would have failed without a strong foundation. That foundation was an outmatched and outnumbered fledgling military built from the ground up.

As our nation has grown and changed and adapted to the changing world, one factor has remained in place all of these years. That is the United States Armed Forces and the men and women whose sacrifice Americans feel in their everyday lives. These great Americans, our best and brightest, have served, sacrificed, and so many have died throughout our history for all of us.

As we celebrate 250 beautiful years of this great nation, take a moment to remember their sacrifices as you gather to celebrate.

I hope you all have a great weekend of celebrating our independence and our country. Keep all of your fingers; do not put an eye out, and if you have a bit too much celebration, get a ride home.

Happy Birthday America!!!

Even with the clouds and light rain, it is another beautiful Sunday afternoon!

Happy Father's Day to all who have served and the fathers, spouses who are fathers or our service members, and all others either serving or supporting those who have served this beautiful nation!

In two short weeks, we will be officially celebrating the 250th birthday of our great nation. I look forward to a summer full of town celebrations across our area and will see you in parades. Next week is the Ellsworth celebration, and I hope to see many of you there!

As we celebrate our nation, let's never forget the soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines who served, fought, and died for the freedoms we all enjoy today.

The United States of America has never been perfect, but the good we have done for our citizens and the world cannot be matched in our country's lifetime.

May God continue to Bless America!
