Storytime- Fall's Colorful Little Treasures!

Storytime got extra leafy today.....and we loved every page! Leaf Trouble by Jonathon Emmet, is an adventure with two young squirrels who try to save their tree when its leaves begin to fall.. only to learn from their mother that seasonal change is natural and beautiful!

Thank-You to the City of Wray Crew for coming to the library's rescue on this cold and dreary day. We truly appreciate your hard work and willingness to help clean up after the paintball attack on our beautiful library building!

Paintballs contain colored pigments that can soak into brick and leave visible stains, potentially causing lasting damage to our community's building.

We are seeking information from anyone who may know who was responsible for this incident. If you witnessed anything or have information that could help us identify those involved, please reach out.

Our library is a place for the entire community, and we appreciate everyone who helps us protect and care for it. Thank you to those who continue to support and look out for our library!

City of Wray Annual Chili Cook-Off

1st place- City of Wray EMS (saving lives and making some pretty darn delicious chili earned them the top spot this year)
2nd place- Wray Volunteer Fire Department (putting out fires in our community yet adding some to their chili earned them the second place)
3rd place- Wray Museum (preserving the past and a traditional chili recipe pushed them into 3rd)

Storytime- Special Guest- Wray Volunteer Fire Department

Today we read Firefighters at Work by Karen Latchana Kenney. Then came our guest speakers! 🔥🚒👩‍🚒👨‍🚒
We met some amazing firefighters and learned how they work together to keep people safe. We explored fire trucks, hoses, helmets, and all the important jobs firefighters do when helping their community!

Special thanks to Volunteer Firefighters, Nick, Gregg, Omar and Daniel. We appreciated you making Storytime extra special and also appreciate everything you do for our community!

It's October!
Why I think October 2026 is going to be EPIC……5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays, 2 notable meteor showers (Draconids peak nights Oct. 8-9 and Orionid peak nights Oct. 21-22), Hunters Full Moon October 26, and Halloween is on a Saturday!

What else happens this month, leaves change colors and we can find "pumpkin" in everything from coffee's, foods and candles.
October is also a good month to check out our New Bookshelf. Lots of mysteries for the Month of October featured. If you stop in look at the new shelf, we are featuring recommended reads by library staff and patrons. Also, local authors and local history.

Back to the pumpkin everything now. What is a pumpkin's favorite sport……………squash of course!
