Last week, the Wright-Patterson and Dayton VA residents came together to learn more about the MMPI-3. Led by CAPT Wygant, Ph.D., it was a great opportunity to make connections, share experiences, and ask questions about this new assessment. Looking forward to continued joint didactics with our VA colleagues!

Welcome to the new 2026-2027
Clinical Psychology Cohort at Wright-Patterson AFB! 🧠
The residents have just completed their first full month of internship and continue to learn everyday. Last week, the residents and Program Directors got together for the first journal club to discuss some interesting literature and have an afternoon pick me up ☕️ Stick around to see all the cool experiences our residents get the opportunity to take part in! ✈️

Stepping outside the clinic and into the operational environment, one of our residents, Capt Worden-Baroni, was able to support an Assessment and Selection event. 🥳 Here is a bit about her experience:
"I attended the Assessment and Selection (A&S) event for Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) Officers. This is one of the potential opportunities you get as part of the Embedded Mental Health (EMH) minor rotation. During this event, I learned more about the role of Operational Psychologists in the USAF and how they work to support candidates, cadre, and the mission. I also had the amazing opportunity to get hands-on experience with the assessment and selection process, as well as connect with several Operational Psychologists to pick their brains about their jobs and deployment experiences."

Psychology residents recently had the incredible opportunity to tour the 375th Aeromedical Evacuation Training Squadron (375th AETS) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base! ✈️🩺

From learning about aeromedical evacuation operations to seeing firsthand how Airmen train to care for patients in-flight, the visit was an impressive reminder of the great work happening at Wright Patt. Residents gained appreciation and insight into the complexity of providing medical and psychological care in dynamic, high-stakes environments, and for the teamwork necessary to make that happen. 🤝

Thanks to the 375th AETS for sharing! 🎉

Today’s training highlight: Biofeedback with Major Krunnfusz, Clinical Health Psychologist 🙌
The residents are building skills in using real-time physiological data to support stress management, health behavior change, and integrated care for patients. Evidence-based practice, hands-on learning, and a subtle reminder that the body doesn’t miss much. 🔍📈

One of the best parts about the location of Wright-Patt is how close it is to Jubie’s Creamery! 🐘🍨
The residency program gathered for Journal Club and got the inside scoop on the latest research. 🍧📉
We really milkshake-d those articles for all they’re worth and churned out some good discussions. 🍦📚
