Lake Clarke Rescue

09/11/2026

Today, we remember September 11, 2001—a day that changed our nation forever. We honor the thousands of innocent lives lost, the firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, military members, and everyday heroes who answered the call, and the families and communities who carried on through unimaginable loss. Their courage, sacrifice, and strength will never be forgotten. We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸🕊️

Today (08/23/2026), Lake Clarke Rescue has retired our 1991 Ford E-350, designated as Rescue 60. This unit served us for over 20 years and prior to that served as Rescue 39 for the New Bridgeville Memorial Fire Company. We have officially placed into service WRV-60 (Water Rescue Vehicle), our new-to-us 2023 Ford F-450. WRV-60 comes to us from the (former) East Prospect Fire Company where it had served as Utility 42. This new unit brings increased reliability, safety, towing and storage capacity. We would like to thank all of our members and graphics company involved in prepping this unit for service. We would also like to thank every club and business that have donated the funds necessary for the purchasing of this unit. We look forward to utilizing this unit to better serve our community for many years to come!

Members of Lake Clarke Rescue spent several hours cleaning, detailing and inspecting apparatus in preparation for the upcoming summer season and to participate in Colombia Borough Firefighter’s Parade this past Saturday. This served not only as an excellent opportunity to continue our countless efforts in operational readiness for the 2026 calendar year, but to also interact with the community and other departments!

Members of LCR spent several hours on the river training and getting the boats warmed up today. We practiced operating the boats and rescue techniques.

We would like to extend our greatest thanks and appreciation to the York County Harley-Davidson Owners Association (YCHDOA) for their recent donation to our organization! Their recent donation will greatly aid in updating our fleet to allow us to better serve the communities we protect.

We started off the month presenting a check to Lake Clarke Rescue (LCR) to support their campaign to raise funds for their new truck. These members volunteer to aid boats & boaters in distress. Let's face it, a water toy is almost as much fun as our two wheeled toys. 😉

Thank you for your work on the Susquehanna River!
