What stories can trees tell about our past?

We're thrilled to welcome Beronda L. Montgomery to the 2026 Six Bridges Book Festival!

In her new book, When Trees Testify, Montgomery blends science, history, and memoir to explore how trees bear witness to Black American history and the enduring connections between people, place, and memory.

A scientist, educator, and acclaimed author, Montgomery invites readers to see the natural world and our shared history in an entirely new way.

Join us this fall for what promises to be a fascinating conversation.
