Working to Build Stronger Partnerships to Protect Our Communities

Wyoming Area Regional Police Chief Michael Turner recently had the privilege of meeting with FBI Co-Deputy Director Christopher Raia and police leaders from across Pennsylvania and New Jersey at the Federal Building in Philadelphia.

The meeting provided an opportunity for an open discussion about the growing partnership between the FBI and local law enforcement. These collaborative relationships give local departments greater access to federal resources, intelligence, technology, and investigative support—enhancing our collective ability to prevent violent crime and bring offenders to justice.

Co-Deputy Director Raia expressed his commitment to strengthening relationships with local police chiefs and expanding the FBI’s assistance to agencies working on the front lines.

The Wyoming Area Regional Police Department is grateful to have been included in this important discussion. Chief Turner looks forward to continuing this partnership and pursuing every available resource to help keep the communities we serve safe.

Arrest Following Stolen Vehicle Investigation and Exeter Township Incident.

The Wyoming Area Regional Police Department announces the arrest of Matthew Rosengrant following an investigation into a series of incidents involving stolen vehicles and suspicious activity in Exeter Township on August 16, 2026.

At approximately 4:59 a.m. on August 16, 2026, Wyoming Area Regional Police officers were dispatched to a residence along State Route 92 in Exeter Township for a report of an unknown male on the property. While officers were responding, additional 911 calls reported that the male was operating a vehicle throughout the property and had crashed into trees.
The investigation determined that the male, later identified as Matthew Rosengrant, allegedly entered the property while operating a stolen Chevrolet Captiva. Investigators determined that the vehicle had been stolen from a business in Courtdale Borough on the prior evening.
According to the homeowner, Rosengrant allegedly drove repeatedly around the residence before approaching the front door and attempting to gain entry. The homeowner subsequently encountered Rosengrant near the rear of the residence, where Rosengrant allegedly threatened to kill the homeowner while advancing toward him.

Rosengrant then allegedly returned to the stolen vehicle, continued driving throughout the property, crashed the vehicle into trees, and fled on foot into a wooded area. A search of the surrounding area was conducted by officers with assistance from a Pennsylvania State Police helicopter, but Rosengrant was not immediately located.

As the investigation continued, officers recovered physical evidence, surveillance video, GPS information, and other evidence connecting Rosengrant to the incident. The homeowner also positively identified Rosengrant from a photographic array.

Investigators further determined that after fleeing the State Route 92 property, Rosengrant allegedly traveled through the wooded area and, at approximately 5:23 a.m., stole a Subaru Legacy from a residence on Wilson Street in Exeter Township. Surveillance video obtained during the investigation captured the theft of that vehicle. The Subaru was later recovered in Wyoming Borough.

The investigation also connected property recovered from inside the stolen Chevrolet to a nearby State Route 92 residence. That portion of the investigation remains under review.
Following the investigation by the Wyoming Area Regional Police Department, Rosengrant was charged with multiple felonies and other related offenses.

Rosengrant was subsequently arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Carmody and remanded to LCCF in lieu of $100,000 bail.

The Wyoming Area Regional Police Department would like to thank the Courtdale Police Department, the Forty Fort Police Department, and Pennsylvania State Police for their assistance during the investigation.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

On August 16, 2026, at approximately 4:59 a.m., officers responded to an incident along Route 92 in Exeter Township involving an unknown male operating a stolen vehicle.

The male entered a residential property and initially knocked on the front door of the residence. He then drove the vehicle into the backyard, where he was confronted by the homeowner. During the confrontation, the male allegedly made statements threatening to kill the homeowner.
