🍂🔎 September is for Exploring
at Yachats Public Library! 🔎🍂

A new month means a new theme! This September, we’re EXPLORING the amazing world around us through stories, creativity, imagination, and simple hands-on crafts.

Join me (Karlie, the Children’s Librarian) Fridays from 1–2 PM for Storytime and a new adventure each week! 📚✨

🏡 September 11: Explore Our Community
Build a paper house!

🦉 September 18: Explore Animals
Create a paper plate owl!

🌎 September 25: Explore the World
Decorate your own globe!

A little note for this week: There will be no Friday program on September 4th due to the holiday weekend. I will be out of town, but I’ll be back and ready to explore with everyone the following Friday! 💛

As always, all ages are welcome, and families are encouraged to join in too! Come read, create, ask questions, and see where our curiosity takes us.

Happy exploring! 🍁🔍📚

🎨 Calling All Young Artists! 🖌️✨

The Yachats Public Library is excited to be participating in the Lincoln County Youth Summer Art Contest!

Youth ages 11–18 living in Lincoln County are invited to use their creativity to make an original poster that shares a message of hope and promotes a healthy, tobacco-free life. 💛

Your artwork could earn you fun prizes AND may even be featured on websites and promotional materials, including bookmarks! How cool would it be to see your artwork out in the community?!

Some ideas to get those creative wheels turning:
🌊 A smoke-free coast
🌱 A healthy future without vapes
💨 Clean air
💛 Encouraging others who want to quit
♻️ How va**ng waste affects our environment
✨ Or come up with your own message of hope!

📍 Art contest information and materials will be available at the Yachats Public Library on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

📅 Deadline: September 30, 2026

Come by the library, pick up the details, and get creating! We can’t wait to see what our local young artists dream up. 🎨

Every Monday in July, the Yachats Public Library was full of creativity, curiosity, and connection during our Summer Reading Program!

With our theme, “Plant a Seed, Read,” children and families gathered throughout the summer for stories, hands-on crafts, nature-inspired activities, special guests, and plenty of opportunities to learn and create together.

It was wonderful to watch kids explore new ideas, make new friends, and bring their imaginations to life each week. 🌱

A huge thank you to all of the families, volunteers, and community members who helped make this summer so special. We loved growing, creating, and reading with you! 📚

Can’t wait for next summer! ☀️
