Greetings, Yakima Valley! We're now in Week 3 of our newest recruits' Training Academy. Under the instruction of Captain Armstrong and Firefighter Holly, our recruits are mastering ladder raises and carries. This specific raise, known as a single person 24' ladder raise, requires additional strength and technique as it involves independent deployment without crew assistance. This skill is crucial in scenarios involving multiple rescues on the second story.

We are pleased to introduce our four newest recruits: Brenna Richey, David Echauri, Mackenzie Norwood, and Mathew Bartlett. They commenced their 12-week academy on September 14th, and upon successful completion, they will transition to the "floor" to begin the remaining 9 months of their probationary period.
