To safeguard your health, the coalition recommends scheduling an annual mammogram starting at age 40 (or earlier if you are at an increased risk), alongside performing regular at-home breast self-checks and knowing your personal risk factors.

SEPTA announced new Regional Rail schedules go into effect on Sunday.

On the West Trenton Line, select trains will operate between two minutes earlier and 12 minutes later than their current scheduled times.

The Bucks County Intermediate Unit will host the 26th annual Secondary Transition Options & Resource Fair from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, at Bucks County Intermediate Unit 22, 705 N. Shady Retreat Road, Doylestown.

The event will connect students and families with schools, agencies and community organizations offering resources to support the transition from school to adulthood. Information will be available on postsecondary education and training, employment, independent living, community resources, and legal, financial and life planning.

The fair also will feature parent presentations from Bucks County Intellectual Disability/Autism Services and a student-only presentation on employability.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that resurfacing operations are planned next week on Woodbourne Road in Middletown Township.

While this part of Woodbourne Road is not located within our district, we know that many of our residents travel this road every day, so we wanted to share this important traffic advisory.

ā° 7 to 11 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

PennDOT reports that periodic lane closures with flagging will be in place for daytime utility work and nighttime paving.

Drivers who regularly use Woodbourne Road should plan for possible delays and allow additional travel time while this work is underway.

Weather permitting, the work is expected to continue throughout the week.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is seeking public feedback on its construction and maintenance activities through an online customer satisfaction .

The 17-question survey is open through October 20 and asks about how residents receive roadway information, experiences with PennDOT construction and maintenance work, reporting concerns, and use of the stateā€™s 511PA traveler information services.

According to PennDOT, the department worked on more than 2,600 road miles and 373 state and local bridges between January and August. The department has also announced 79 ā€œRapid Deployment Projectsā€ as part of a planned $775 million investment from the Motor License Fund over 18 months.

The survey also asks respondents how effectively PennDOT communicates information about roadway projects and conditions.

Medicareā€™s open enrollment period runs from Oct. 15 to Dec. 7 and Medicare-eligible Pennsylvanians can take advantage of the Pennsylvania Medicare Education and Decision Insight (Formerly APPRISE).

MEDI is a free program run by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging that helps older Pennsylvanians choose Medicare supplements based on their income and medical needs.

The Council Rock Newtown 9-to-11-year-old Little League team was recognized today in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

The team had an incredible season, capturing the District 30, Section 8, Pennsylvania State, and Mid-Atlantic Championships before advancing to the Eastern Regional Tournament in Massachusetts, where they finished as East Region runners-up, including a dramatic walk-off victory over New York.

Congratulations to players Crew Torok, Beckett Piccarreta, James Alexander, Owen Rottkamp, Ethan Hodgson, Teagan Dā€™Andrea, Wade Bailey, Sullivan Herrity, Patrick Burger, Will Egan, Beau Guise, and Jakob Stƶrmer, along with Manager Eric Guise and Coaches Brett Dā€™Andrea and Mark Alexander, on an outstanding season.
