I did not know this. I love to keep learning history.

As a follow up from the shared post from the National Trust.

George Washington worked around the restrictions of the gradual abolition act to keep Ona Judge and others enslaved.

The presidents house in Philly is on the endangered list. Most of it is seen underground but if you are local it is worth a visit. It is also the site where signage was removed earlier this year that talked about enslavement. Some were returned but not all. Philadelphians have made their opinions on the matter known. These are pictures I took when visiting in March of this year.

I will share some additional pictures I took at this site in March. If you are a history buff read the book on Ona that came out in the last year or so.

We had a great day at the farm. Unfortunately I totally forgot to take pictures but Bette took one. We talked to a lot of engaged people about preservation.

LMT Historical Commission is having a open house at Patterson Farm with the Patterson Farm Master Plan Implementation Committee. There will be lots of Slate HIll info there. Going to bring the original 1690 framed deed, along with the ground penetrating radar map.
