Scheduling system maintenance now can help your heating system run more efficiently this winter. Replace your air filter regularly and schedule a professional tune-up before the winter chill arrives. A well-maintained system can improve comfort and help manage energy use.

As fall temperatures fluctuate, your thermostat settings can make a big difference on energy bills. On cooler days, lower the thermostat… and raise it during days that are warmer. On milder days, consider turning off your heating/cooling system altogether. A smart thermostat is also convenient for making temperature adjustments––and saving energy––even easier.

Cooler temps are coming, which means your heating system will soon be working harder to keep your home comfortable. Fall is the perfect time to check for drafts around windows and doors––before cooler weather arrives. A little weatherstripping and caulk can help keep conditioned air indoors while improving efficiency and overall comfort.

Even strong passwords can be compromised. Multifactor authentication adds an extra layer of protection by requiring an additional way to verify your identity—such as a code sent to your phone or an authentication app. Turn on MFA for important accounts whenever it’s available, especially for email, financial and utility accounts.
