✨WEEK OF RESPECT - September 28th - October 2nd✨
Dear LCSD Families, Staff, and Community,
I am honored to join our schools and communities across Nevada in celebrating the fundamental values that keep our learning environments safe, supportive, and welcoming for all.
In Lyon County School District, our top priority is ensuring that academic achievement takes center stage, and that happens best when every student feels valued, heard, and respected. Respect is more than a word; it is demonstrated in the daily choices we make—how we speak to one another, how we respond to differences, and how we stand up for those around us.
Throughout this week, our schools are participating in activities that highlight kindness, empathy, and positive digital citizenship, as well as strategies to prevent bullying and cyberbullying. While the state designates this special week each fall to emphasize these principles, our commitment to a positive culture is a continuous effort that happens every single day in our classrooms, hallways, and fields.
I encourage our parents and guardians to carry this conversation into your homes this week. Ask your children what respect looks like to them, and how we can all contribute to a safer community together.
Thank you to our educators, staff, families, and students for demonstrating kindness and leading by example. Let’s make this week, and the entire school year, a reflection of the best of Lyon County.
Warm regards,
Tim Logan
Superintendent
Lyon County School District
