ON YOUR MARK, GET SET, GET READY!!! September is a busy month with lots of cool things to see and do. Starting with Saturday and Sunday, Sep 12th & 13th, DAGGETT DAYS. So much to see and learn and don't forget on Saturday morning at 9am we kick off with a special presentation, THE GREAT RACE. As if that wasn't enough don't forget Saturday night the 12th after a day in Daggett, just down the street is the BARSTOW RODEO at the Marine Base.

Then on Wednesday September 23rd from 5pm to 7pm come enjoy a BBQ dinner as The Mojave River Valley Museum has their mini BBQ held right there at the museum off Barstow Road. Take out is no problem. Cost is $10.00

Top off the month with Calico Days Sep 26th & 27th. So many things to see and do, bring up the County Calico page and check out all the fun events. You can't miss the Burro Run (or better known as you think your smarter than a burro) on Sunday, laughs a minute. More on Calico Days coming your way.

On Sunday October 12, 1980 NBC channel 4 was at Calico filming Calico Days for "The Sunday Show".
Up at the School house was the grease pole with money waiting at the top. Just good clean fun!
Calico used to have a parade and what a parade it was! The Macy Day parade couldn't even come close.

Speaking of CALICO DAYS, let's take a closer look at the man of the hour, Walter Knott and what he accomplished. Remember this year we are celebrating 60 years since he turned Calico over to County Parks. Imagine, this is it, all that Walter had to work with in the beginning. So as you walk up and down the street keep these photos in the back of your mind then go OH MY GOSH. Can you identify the structures and are they still standing? The aerial is amazing in telling the story of then and now.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, BOYS AND GIRLS, get ready as September 2026 will be one to remember. The History of SILVER VALLEY is coming alive as we celebrate Daggett Days (Sep 12th & 13th) and Calico Days (Sep 26th & 27th).
